Well good news Gavin! If that's the case you might be able to save some money on fixing those carburetors. Judging by the photographic evidence, all its gonna cost is some beer and your dignity.

There was no yelling. THIS IS YELLING ON A FORUM.

They were just yanking your chain to straighten you out. Now they have you on the straight and narrow.

Ok Gavin, now that we have you settled down, we can now start to give you a bit of help, but one of the things you must also realize is that if you do get this thing up and running, you are probably not going to find the fairing bits that you are missing and if you did find some, the costs of repairing them would be expensive so you will have to decide if you wish to go any further with it before you start spending any money on it, because once you start you have to continue it through to the finish, otherwise it will end up money down the drain

Well I have a couple of thoughts on that .1 I could strip the plastic off and make a street fighter out of it it would be a cheap fix . In all honesty this is most likely what is going to happen immediately after it becomes road worthy once again. But I do not want to leave it naked just more than likely will broke when im finishing it up mechanically and will eager to ride it . My rough plan for it is to put the 91 front upper and lower fairing/side pieces from I believe its thurn on there and i seen a 89 nighthawk gt650 I believe it is and i could be wrong but appears to have The same frame (for the most part as the vfr) and i really like the tail piece on that bike alot more rounded and modern looking so thats my vision at this moment for my bike but things can and do change but I really like that front end and hope there isn't gonna be to much fab work to make it fit and think the tail piece would finish off the back end well so you guys are probably going nuts me saying this wanting to make it a Frankenstein bike but i think it will look really clean when done and want be a whole lot of fab needing to be done to do it

This is not carb related, but in your gallery pics the front left brake calliper looks like it is only hanging on (or off) by one bolt. Please promise me you're not going riding like that when you sort the carbs!

Yes I seen that myself the other day when looking at the bike no after the carbs I will be replacing brakes front AnD rear chain and sprockets tires And most likely wheel bearings before I ride it unfortunately.

How many miles on your bike Gavin ?? BTW, there is no gt650 Nighthawk, so maybe you mean the NT650 Hawk (aka GT647) like this:

    018_18hkside jpg.jpg

It has a very different frame from a VFR, much narrower.

Best bet for your bodywork would be parts from Airtech fiberglass.

Someone suggested--and i agree--that you simply MUST run a compression test on the engine b4 putting ANY more money into it.
