I read somewhere that Honda definitely will not put in WSBK. But who knows. They have to know that there is a huge "V" want from us mortals.

Speculation 101. I doubt Rhea would have left for Kawasaki, after being with them his entire career, if there was going to be some application in WSBK. Either that, or the time frame for using them in WSBK didn't fit Rhea's career timetable. On another front, the WSBK rules are getting watered down incrementally by DORNA......can't have MotoGP spec equipment showing up the big show.....

I think that the new V-4 will be priced around the Ducati 1299. The market won't bear a super expensive Honda when an H2 with 300 h.p. is only $25000.

If this is really a (more or less) premier class replica from Honda, it will blow the silly little supercharged toy away in every performance category. 300 HP does not a GP race bike make.

Geez, I can tell that you are a wealth of knowledge. How about the toy Ducati, Aprilia, YZF-R1 M1. I guess the Honda will make them stop producing, eh?
Don't get me wrong, I am a Honda guy, but they have been asleep at the controls lately. Also, was the RC51, that retailed for a mere $17,000.00 in 2004, a silly toy as well? Honda may offer a couple of versions, as the bike shown was not a productions version, I don't think. I wouldn't doubt that it is to guage reaction. Or maybe an "SP" model to start with?
Your tone of comment was very belittling, and quite "squidish".

Not likely. Don't get me wrong now. I think many of us would like to see the RC213 priced within reach if not a stretch for us mere mortals. But most of the info seems to be supporting a very high price tag. More along the lines of the Ducati Desmosedici. The potential buyers in this market segment can afford to buy one of these then just park it & look at it. No different than a piece of art. The Kawasaki H2 is aimed at the masses & priced within reach. $25-30k is about the cost of mid level family sedan or a full size pickup truck here in the US. Not cheap but some may find it worth the financial stretch to have that bike. Either way I don't think Honda or Kawasaki will have any trouble selling their bikes. As with most machines of this caliber car or bike, they all seem to be sold before the production run is ever completed.

we need to realize, there's two H2's.... there's the 200 horse street legal version, and the 300 horsepower, no lights, no mirrors, non street version.

Considering that an NR in 92 went for $60K and the average repely racer was around $6-7K. 10 times, so yes a $18K Duc or an H2 at $25k Makes the Honda Rc213 cost of $200,000 a possibility. *&^%!

    Yes with the H2R having a rumored price of $65k limited to 500 units worldwide. Ownership cost will be astronomical. From the H2R website;

For every 15 hours of running over 8,000 min-1, the engine needs to be inspected. For every 30 hours, an engine bottom end overhaul is needed.

The H2R is sold “As is” with no warranties, express or implied. The purchaser accepts all responsibilities concerning cost of service, maintenance and repairs.

How much will that cost & what dealers will be authorized to do that? Will you have to crate the bike up & ship it somewhere? I guess if you can afford the asking price in the first place....maintenance shouldn't be a problem. Will the Honda come with such stipulations?

I seem to recall a story about the first NR750 sold for $90K ($30k above list price). I wish I could find that article.

I'm not sure you understood what I was saying. I was merely observing that Kawisaki's supercharged monstrosity is not a GP replica, while the bike honda is releasing appears to (possibly) be. They aren't the same thing, and comparing them in the context of price point, as though Honda isn't going to be able to sell theirs for $100,000, is premature.

Maybe that sounds 'squidish' to you, but maybe you should make sure you've grasped the basics of someone's post before getting so defensive. How's that for belittling?

If they make them and sell for say a bargain deal of 150,000 they will sell as many as they can hand build. Plenty of rich squids out there.

Honda can do what they want, but, that RC is but a prototype so far. If you look at Honda's worldwide site is states that the one painted like a Jap. flag doesn't even run. The carbon fibre one that Marc M. rode on stage is a runner. My point being that I was merely "guessing" on the price of this new model. With the economic climate in the world right now, and the competition, my guess was around $25000.00. ...and no your comment was not too friendly. I don't have time for people that seem to no more than us" lesser thans". Your comment was understood by myself just fine! That new H2 is not a replica, it IS a race bike! I think it is pretty cool.

I'm getting the feeling from your responses that you don't know what Premier class MotoGP racing is, or how profoundly the bikes they ride differ from production motorcycles. And you had the audacity to call me a squid?

The H2R was a marketing gimmick made to sell H2's. Simple as that. If kwakkers can sell a handful of h2rs cool, but the goal is to sell bucket loads of H2s. Honda's MotoGP bike with turn signals was just a distraction to keep people from paying too much attention to the release of the 2008er..15 CBR1000RR.

This H2 was created by the Same man that brought us the 900 ninja. ....they call him the mad scientist and this creation is his gift before retiring. ......may be the platform for lighter, less cc.turbo bikes with the power of larger engines
