One of the really great rides for harleydoods is I-5 from San Diego to the border in Canada. Kind of an all American deal..

I rode the NC Highway on the RD with my brothers back in the 80's. We'd come up through Arlington and Darrington and pop out at Rockport. I'll never forget looking down a hundred feet through the cheese-grater deck of the bridge over the Skagit. It was bad enough that those metal grates made you feel like you were going to dump it at any moment let alone you got the impression of how far you'd fall.

We noticed there was usually only one cop on the highway. After you passed him, you could write your own ticket.

Gassing up in Darrington is a good idea when bypassing a stop in Concrete. I bet you and your brothers were on bias ply tires in the 80s. Radials on that bridge (and others) provide less shake rattle and roll.

For our friends in UK and OZ best to forget which side of the road to ride at home on I-5 either way.

Highway 9 is fun from the Canadian border to Seattle at mid day..

Our TJ expert is probably Long..

    Badbilly, Are you from Washington?

You seem to know a lot of the good rides around here.

I grew up in Edmonds and bought my brother's RD 350 back in 1979. Road it all over on the East side of the pond. I'm on vacation this week and plan to ride Chuckanut drive. Who know's, maybe I'll run into Randy coming the other way. :)

Your mailbox is full by the way, probably knew that....

I spend most of my time in Oregon. I lived in Seattle for years. The rides? PR guy and Ride Coordinator for VME for several years and Ride Marshall at VMEs Isle of Vashon, designed some rides for charity stuff too. I do some writing for Soundrider Emag Not much pay but I get free swag.. and a free ride at Soundrider's Sportbike Northwest.

Chuckanut is best done in mid-day, mid week. Lots of squirrels on the road on the weekends. For a few pesos round trip haul over to the Fauntleroy dock and exolore Vashon. Pretty sure that round trip ticket will get you on the Tacoma ferry on the way back or the other way round from Tacoma to Vashon to Fauntleroy.

Thanks for the tip on the mailbox.. I may be more popular than Miley Cyrus or Kim Kardashian or even Randy. ;)

Not originally from WA. I'm a Californicator.. SoCal style..

I should really figure oot how to save those to disc. My hormone shots and titty implants are still pending. Plus, I just got a haircut.

I've been there 13 years straight but for some reason your camera makes it hard for me to recognize pretty much anything of the dragon. Makes the road look mildly twisty and pretty boring. Nothing like it actually is. Must be the setting you have on the go pro.
