Hi Everyone. It has been a little while, but in my last post (16 months ago) I announced that I was selling the VFR to get a touring machine so that my wife and I could do more (comfortable) touring.

    http://vfrworld.com/forums/showthread.php/42753-Selling-My-2007-VFR800-RWB

I did let my wife make the call and she chose a Spyder RT-S which is basically a GoldWing with a second wheel up front. Over this time, we have done a lot of riding and she absolutely loves the Spyder which is why we bought it. The kids love it too and always want to go out on it, so that is pretty cool as well.

However, the Spyder is NOT a VFR. I have grown to tolerate it. It is a fantastic touring machine when you have a passenger, but when you're riding solo, it sucks.

Initially, my wife did tell me to NOT sell the VFR, but I was trying to simplify my life as I had just sold off my entire 1986 VF / VFR collection the year before. Anyhow, she has picked up on the fact that when I sold the VFR, I lost a piece of myself. It sounds queer, but it is very true. I have owned some kind of Interceptor for the last 26 years until I sold my 2007. She flat out told me that I should go buy a VFR for my solo riding and save the Spyder for the touring and I gladly agreed.

So after some thinking, I decided that I wanted another 2007 VFR800. I had my old one for 6-1/2 years and loved everything about it. For me, the RWB color scheme never gets old and I decided that the 2007 was what I wanted to have again. I just bought one on Saturday with just 3K miles on it. With the pictures I have, it is like new. I hope to get it shipped here in the next week or two, do some late fall riding and then get it in the basement for winter so that I can apply the updates that I made to my old one.

Here is a photo of the bike. As stated, it only has 3K miles, is all stock and is in great shape. I am glad to be back!

I think you should let Stosh paint it after he's had about a dozen Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey shots.

Welcome back! Absence makes the heart grow fonder, right? And, of course, you returned to the RWB!

glad you were able to find a decent replacement. It's like when your kid's goldfish dies and you replace it with another. You can hardly tell you even sold your RWB.

Welcome back and congrats on the great find! Only 3k on the clock is pretty amazing considering the seven years that have passed. Looks like it came with bags too!

Trust me, it was tough to not do it sooner. I was resisting until my wife said just go do it.

We all get dazed and confused at some point in our lives :)

Can you save that pink paint for the Spyder?

    VERY TRUE!!!

Nope. I wasn't. I thought about the VFR often.

Hi Scuba! I'm glad to see that nothing has changed. You still can't spell my name :)
How are you doing from your accident earlier last year?

I am honored that you think I'm normal. I keep telling myself that, so I tend to believe it.

I have never done that with my kid's GloFish .....

Yes, it does have the OEM hard cases in blue. A total bonus with the bike because I'd be buying them all over again otherwise.

did your wife keep the spyder? I bought my little lady a spyder earlier this year. been on road trips the entire summer with plenty of room to pack all our gear. hope you and your wife get some good rides in this coming season as I'd imagine your riding season is coming to a close in Syracuse. I grew up in Rochester vaguely remember lake effect snow....
