    Hello all,

I've always dreamed of owning a white 6th generation VFR800, just because this bike is gorgeous and it's sound is way cool!

Found this superb one for sale and I'm picking it up Thursday, if all goes well:
    I also own a red 2001 CBR1100XX Super Blackbird:
I intend to keep and ride both, spreading the mileage between the two :)

Oh, yeah, I'm from the south shore of Montreal and I'm also an active member on the cbrxx forum.

Looking forward to enjoy my VFR!

That's a beaut of a 6th gen! I've never ridden a Blackbird, but I have heard nothing but great things about them.

Oh yeah, and I'm also looking for suggestions as to which aftermarket exhaust to pick for my VFR :)

The exhaust thing varies from one rider to another. I like the look of the OEM exhaust, but hated the sewing machine noise it made. Oh, and it also weighs the same as a boat anchor. BOS makes a good looking one for the 6th gen:

I don't know how the sound is though. FMF Apex are probably the sexiest of the 6th gen exhaust, especially when they are mounted "wrong". Switch the left and right can and they look awesome:

The top is the "right way" and the bottom is the cans switched.

Two Bros sound great to me. But I do not like the look of them on the 6th gen. Plus, only one can is hooked up. The other is not even tied into the exhaust! It's dead weight. Sure they are lighter, but still...

The Staintune has the awesome sound that I think everyone agrees is the best. And it is high quality stainless so it looks great too. IF you can find a set of these, you got lucky.

I like Delkevic exhaust generally (had one on my 5th gen for touring duties), but I don't think they look good on the 6th gens. Purely my opinion.

    Hope this helps!

Congrats! Another vote for Leo's. Problem is availability, not sure about "The Great White North". But here in the USA Leo's are out. Always wanted a Blackbird. Looks like you de-linked the 'Bird's brakes. Any plans for the VFR?

Good eye: my bird is de-linked and converted to Brembos :)

The VFR will stay linked. I de-linked the bird because it doesn't have ABS. Since the VFR I'm acquiring has ABS, I will keep it linked. Short term mods will be the exhaust and a Corbin saddle. Steel brake lines will follow. The bike I'm getting doesn't need anything else, except perhaps a PC, depending on what particular exhaust I'll be able to find.

marriedman: thanks for the post. I really like the looks of those FMF Apex mounted the wrong way. My favourite "visual" setup so far. I'll keep them in mind. I was favouring Leo Vince, so far, but looks like they're discontinued. It's always possible to find used, like the Akra on my Bird which I found in UK :)

    Thanks for the welcome!

Opinions are like arseholes: everybody's got one!

Why I like white: white is Honda's official racing colour, and it makes the bike look more... Japanese!

I buy a house, I look at three things: location, location, location. I buy a bike, I look at three things: Japanese, Japanese, Japanese!

    Fly :)

    I also had FMF's mounted reversed on my 07... IMG_0002.jpg IMG_0004.jpg

And a quick little launch to 3rd gear...Youtube

Good luck finding FMF's anymore, though. They quit making them for the VFR.

Wow! Awesome sound! Are your gauges blue from origin or did you "blue gauge" your instruments afterward?

They do a good job with pretty quick turn around. It's a good project for the winter. The cluster isn't too hard to remove, either. I don't know about you, but the first thing I do when I get any new vehicle is find and obtain a factory service manual.

Oh, and feel free to check out the rest of my videos on my channel :)

Just an FYI - Randy was just messing with ya. He has a white 6th gen with a custom red/orange design and white wheels. Very nice looking! It used to be his avatar, but he changes it up every once in a while.
