There were both the 700 and 750 in 1984. It says VF700F on the vin tag in one of the auction photos. Cool bike, really like mine so far.

I've already bought two motorcycles this year....don't have the cash.

74ullc....if I buy anything after looking at those ads from the 80's it would be a wheelchair, a hearing aid or some long term care insurance....good God, I feel old! Funny stuff. The big hair chick cracks me up.
....but the bikes where extremely cool. What a quantum leap motorcycle technology took in 83 with the interceptor!

    Thanks for the links

See if it stays listed for a few weeks and if so make him a crazy offer, you never know. Yes, when the '83 came out I was a toddler but I would imagine it made some waves. Was there anything like it before?

Not that I can think of...at least not in a production bike. The handling started to improve with the GPZs but the Interceptor brought the "race replica" styling. It started a shitstorm of advancement...FZ, Ninjas, FZR, Hurricane (CBR), GSXR etc all within five years. It's a period that saw a technological explosion and I doubt we'll ever see a period like it again in motorcycle development.

What the motorcycle industry has come up with since seems like marketing fluff.

At 46, maybe I'm just getting old and reminiscing....first sign of senility. Well, at least I'll be able to hide my own Easter eggs ;)

When I bought my '83 in Toronto, there was nothing like it. I wasn't even looking for it. Just went into dealer one day and saw it sitting there, best looking bike I had ever seen. Already had Kaw Z-1000, and Norton 850 Commando, nice bikes but this was special.

I was gonna mention the KZ 1000....especially in lime green. That was about the meanest looking thing you could get pre-interceptor
