I fell in love with the CB1100 when I first saw it earlier this year. I think Honda did a great job of capturing the classic look of the 70's CB and adding nice modern touches. I was lucky enough to get two local dealerships to engage in a bidding war for my money and ended up buying the bike today - $10150 out the door with a Yoshimura RS-3 slip-on already installed.

And, to add to my excitement, I've been able to convince my wife that I really need BOTH my VFR and the CB! They're just such different bikes! The CB is being delivered tomorrow. I'll post more pics soon enough. Until then, here's one from the showroom floor. Not the best photo but it's all I have at the moment.

Agreed, Honda did a great job on that bike. Definitely a ride report when you get it. And don't forget to give the ol' VFR some love when the new baby arrives.

That looks suspiciously like an unauthorized break-in procedure. Then again, I've spent too much time in the past reading about hard vs soft break-in. There are plenty who swear by your method. Haha.

I'm still waiting for the bike to arrive today and have a full day planned with the wife. It's going to kill me to have it sitting in the garage! (Don't tell my wife I said that.) But tomorrow I have to head in to the office for a few hours. Let's meet up either before or after I go in. I'll PM you my cell #. I'll probably be going in around 10 so if you want to meet before that, that would probably work out best. Looking forward to meeting you.

It was too short but a nice ride. I don't care what Scubalong says about you, you're a cool dude. Thanks for posting the pics!

Oh, and I was smiling in that first one. Derstuka asked me to take my helmet off, saw what was underneath and said, "You know what, why don't you keep it on?" I had to argue with him to let me lift the visor.

Very NICE. Brings back fond memories of the old CB900C I used to own, especially with the chrome fenders and dual shocks. I'll bet that one sounds a whole lot better, and corners better as well.

I think the tires are sufficiently scrubbed in at this point that I can start to corner a little more aggressively. I just have to keep in mind that it's not my VFR. I believe the stock rubber are Dunlop. A lot of guys over at the CB1100 forum have changed them out complaining that they're way too hard and unforgiving. I'll stick with them for a while and see how they do. The suspension is really stiff resulting in decent jolts when going over bumps in the road. I can adjust the shocks one more tooth and will see how much that softens up the ride. I'm sure I'll end up going with some aftermarket shocks and when the tires wear, putting on some Michelins. I'm already in love with the bike. Once I get the suspension dialed in and a little wind protection up front, I'll be set! (I know...famous last words.)

Ahhhh, the joys of getting a new bike, spending time making it your own. May the rides be numerous and the time spent enjoyable.
