Going round to dealerships yesterday looking for bikes for the Mrs (soon to be wife) and I found this beauty and instantly fell in love with this.

    It's a 1988 "Super" Magna, 750 V4 at about 90hp. Love the exhaust system.

Strangely the dealership hasn't done their research and put it down as a 93 model, but this model was only produced for 2 years, in 1987 as a 700 and 1988 as a 750.

And then I found out how rare it is.

20000 were produced...tops! Probably less than that, I searched ebay, couldn't find any bikes for sale and then auto trader and the only one I could find was this one!

    Just wish I had £3,000!

The Magna's were badass muscle cruisers in their time. The Super Magn's like you said are pretty rare. Especially the '88. Less than a third of the Super Magna's were 88 models!

I had that same bike for a few months in 2010. Pristine 1988 with less than 10k miles. It was my dream bike from when I was a kid. After a couple thousand miles, it turned out I wasn't much of a cruiser guy, so I bought a 2007 VFR and sold the Magna. So, last month after 36k miles, I traded the 07 in for a new 2014 VFR and couldn't be happier! It will always have a special place in my heart, and even if I never ride it, there will be a Super Magna in my "lottery garage" :)

    This was mine...

Aloha, I also have always had a fondness for the Magna. If I found one in acceptable condition
I would seriously consider it. If I every got to the point of a cruiser( no offence to anyone), the
magna might be my only choice. Very nice example, yes very nice.

So...is it your soon to be wife's bike or yours? I like how you were shopping for her and YOU are the one who fell in love.

Well, today I was successful in convincing my wife that I needed another motorcycle. "Needed" being a tough sell. In the end, it's clear she just loves me and tolerates my obsession with two wheeled vehicles. Bottom line, I bought the bike. You, my friend, are still in the very early stages of romance and bliss. I'm guessing you'll have a much easier go at it than I did. Consider me the little red devil on your right shoulder - GET THE MAGNA!
