    Hi guys,

    Just a short introduction.
My name is Joep Willems and I live in the south of the Netherlands.
After turning two VF's into trackbikes I'm now working on a VFR rc24 to take to the track. Already changed a few things. Put a GSXR frontend in there, CBR600 rear rim. Just needs a new shock and the VFR rc36-2 frontrim placed in there. No biggy.

When that is sorted I'll take the axlegrinder and shed some weight. Still have two engines lying around so maybe pull one a part and do some work to it. And hope to get/find some info here.

And everybody likes pictures so here are a few.

Nice bikes, will get my VF back next week after many years of just sitting. Who makes the exhaust system with the gold cans?

It's a Sebring 4-into-1 system. Great sound. Just a little groundclearance issue on the right side but still much better then the Laser-systems you see around.

Fairing wise it's going to be pretty standard at first. Maybe I'll wack the seat of an RS250 on there and a RS500 tophalf.
I like the fairings of airstream who are at the moment the only one that make a racingstyle seat. But still I would like to have one complete seat, so without the original seat being used. And the DIY route with making a mould and produce the fairing your one is a costly one aswell.
In Germany there is a company called Pferrer. They also make a seat but it doesn't have the same look.

There is a racingseries in Germany that requiers that you can see the engine. So just the tophalf, but on the VFR I'm not really charmed by that.
But first, lets get it up and running. I still want it to be semi roadlegal. So if one of my mates doesn't have a bike, he can take this one for a spin. And keeping some sort of light so I can run it in the Endurances which are held.

Hhmmm. Let's check out the Rvf for inspiration

I'll do a little write up about the bikes (hopefully) on the weekend. Ok?

So here are my VF's troughout the years.
It all started with this one
    [IMG]
Pretty much standard. Stainless brakelines, Bitubo rearshock, stiffer frontsprings and a pair of Laser silencers on the standard collector.

After that day I was hooked on trackdays but the VF had some points that needed to be addressed. So I bought an other one and started to build. CBR600 front- and rearend, full Sebring exhaust, scrapped as much weight without going for expensive parts, etc. You could say this was the first generation aajsjinkeracer
    [IMG]

But I wasn't pleased with the looks. So searched a bit and got a white-blue fairing set with some patina. The tank was painted black, so cleaned it up which rags soaked in gasoline. Et voila. The second aajsjinkeracer was almost born.
Still wasn't satisfied with the CBR600 parts on there, I wanted it to be more period correct. So swap the frontend for what turned out to be the frontend of the Enduranceracer of Johan vd Wal. PVM rims, etc, etc
    [IMG]

And then I came across a original HRC fork. Well, what to do. I had some bits lying around. Enough to build a second one and I wanted to to try and fit some bigger carbs, port the heads, 4-into-2 exhaust, oilcooler, etc. It still toke some time to get everything together, but I'm pretty pleased with the end result. And that makes number 3
    [IMG]

And of course, new plans are already being made. The VF is a bit heavy and underpowered. And also bits are getting more and more rare. So I started building a VFR rc24, GSXR '88 frontend, VFR rc36-2 front rim, CBR600 pc25 rear rim, Laser full-exhaust (or Motad, I'm not sure yet). Biggest thing it needs right now is a rearshock. Not easy to find a secondhand one that is adjustable, so I will probably have to order one. And that would be number 4

Some of the work that has been done to the last one.
    PVM rims
    FZR brakediscs
4-piston Tokico calipers in front, 2-piston in the back. All of a ZXR
41.3mm front fork. Probably off an RS500
Oilsump of a VF1000 to get an oil-cooler on there
    Different cams
    36mm CV carbs of a VF1000
    Wilbers rearshock
Ported the heads and zipped some of them.
Reworked exhaust of a VF1100S, etc, etc.

    Still to heavy
I weighed the white-blue one, when it still had the cbr600 bits on there. it came in at 220kg so 440lbs with a full tank of gas, oils, etc. So still not that light.
The PVM rims I'm running are nice to see and periodcorrect, but they're not the lightest. I could go magnesium, but then reliability becomes a problem. But I can't be really bothered, I just want to ride them on special occasions when speed is not the number one objective.

That is also one of the biggest reason for going down the VFR rc24 road. Instant more power and lighter.

My mistake. 200kg is 440lbs, so 220 is 480. My bad.
