That's so tough. So many desirable bikes. I really like the new VFR800 but I'm also very intrigued by the Moto Guzzi California 1400 Touring. Especially since I see we get to keep our current bike in this hypothetical!

I would try and find a 1990 RC-30 and if that didn't happen then a 2014 VFR800 as the NR750 is 3-4 times that amount.

Bmw r1200rt ? Nice. What do you ride right now?

There is a few people that switched from that bike and Yamaha FJR to VFR and they love it.

I ride a VFR800 (2003). I am in no hurry to switch bikes. But I optioned out a R1200RT online and after all options it was like $28k!!! Base was around $18k I think. It looked like it could tackle any tour thrown at it.

I currently ride a 2003 Silver VFR800, and don't get me wrong, I love it. But I have a plan to go touring someday, I can't see using the VFR because of the aggressive riding position. Local dealer has a new R1200RT that was turned in because of the recall, and the customer moved up to a K1600. It is deep metallic brown and has 600 miles. Don't know how much they are asking for it, but I notice the color is no longer offered.

I gotta stick with the V4's. RSV4! and any left over money would go to another RC51

If I had $20,000 to spend on bikes I would likely go with these 2. One to 2 up touring in a more sporting fashion, and one for touring in inexcusable comfort.

This one is for pure comfort. Goldwing GL1800A (not sure on year)

    http://classifieds.castanet.net/details/goldwing_gl1800-a/1991670/

And this one is for faster touring and general fun. :). 2003 CBR1100XX Blackbird

    http://classifieds.castanet.net/details/2003_honda_cbr1100xx_super_blackbird/2033065/

Purchasing both puts me at $20,200 but I'm certain I could talk one of both down a couple hundred. :)

I just traded my 2012 R1200RT that I put 18K miles in for this 2012 VFR1200. The RT is like a really homely, hard working, efficient wife. Really can't complain about anything, but you just can't stand it, so you wind up cheating on her (with a VFR). If you are a practical person, get the RT, if you ride cause you love to ride, stick with the VFR (or FJR, or K1300S).

I love my VFR, but if you put $20K in my hand and tell me I HAVE to buy a bike, I get this.

Ha ha ha.. that was a great explanation!!

You had 37 bikes and you love your VFR. That makes me feel much better about mine.
I'm keeping my VFR for sure :)

    Then you'll love these:

2015 Ducati Diavel vs Ford Mustang Shelby GT500
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcXbd0qT80M

2015 Ducati Diavel vs 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1HaawJiqKQ

I love the Diavel's engine, but the seating position is neither cruiser, nor sport bike. The pegs are in this funky half-way in between location. Wish Ducati would build a new ST4 using that engine!

Seeing that we don't have to pay high taxes here in Gibraltar, I could get a 2015 Ducati Diavel Carbon, for a like $20,200 over here.... Here are some pictures.....no drooling!!

That Diavel Carbon is sexy. I'm lucky enough to have a buddy with one so I can see it in person every once in a while lol.

    Speaking of Ducatis...

    Ducati Monster 1200S
    M-1200S_2014_Amb-05_R_1920x1080.mediagallery_output_image_[750x423].jpg

Both are well under $20k so some mods would be in order.

The peg position reminds me of my Norton, just a tiny bit too far forward. I seems a lot like the Moto Guzzi Griso which is a bike I lust after.
