I've got a 1998 VFR800. I'm in love with the Single Sided Swing Arm and I want to show it off. I already know that doing a left exit on a 5th gen is a lot of work, if not impossible. I know that I can high-mount, but I really want to show off as much of the rear as possible (I'm no lady). Does anyone have any good suggestions for high-mount combinations (muffler and mid-pipe) that shows a lot of wheel? how about running something in the belly, or a stubby without the mid-pipe?

First let :welcome: you to the Madness
2nd take a moment walk down the hall to the introduction section and introduce yourself.
Glad to have you, and just a word of Warning: We have a tough crowd here and they will not believe you untill
you show some picture of the VFR you claim
To answer your question I think other option would be a GP style or under the tail. Couple of members here done the mod but seem to be
an issue with rubbing the tire due to the weight of the rider and two up. GP style would be the only other solution.

I'm in the process of fitting a high-mount exhaust and contemplating either powder coating the rims black to its original condition or using a different colour like silver, (haven't decided yet)...alternatively I may just have them hydro-dipped in carbon or other wild effect. This should really show off that single swing arm and wheel. Will keep you all posted for sure.

Motad headers, Delkevic short can, custom mid pipe. Carbon wheels, VTR1000 fork lowers, CBR929 calipers, hence the new wavey discs.

I just picked up a 2Bros high mount exhaust for my 5 Gen...I found it in the classified section although I did find a low mount on eBay so maybe peruse the classified section first. In fact, I actually found 2 8 Spoke wheels, a Power Commander and the exhaust in the classified section. Who knows, you might get lucky!

    Cheers!

I was referring to the ones I bought, not that they're there now...sorry for the confusion.

Wouldn't be a bad idea to get 2nd hand wheels I suppose, especially if I can get a good deal on them too. I'll have a look around see what I can find. I need to replace my headers at some point, punctured a hole last year on a ridiculously small and tall speed bump and had it welded shut. Seems okay for the time being anyway.
