    Word to the wise!
Wrap some masking tape around your wheel nut socket before you us it on those purdy white wheels. I don't care how careful you are, you will rub the sides of those lug nut recesses on the rears and leave a black mar there. Leave the impact wrench in the cabinet. Use hand tools.

I think it was Arnzinator who suggested the wax on the wheels to help repel the brake dust and ease the clean up when I did mine. That's what I did on mine and it does deem to help. But if you don't like cleaning wheels, you are going to regret the colour change.

Something to keep in mind. When you balance the wheels and tires, with the stick on weights, make sure you clean the surface where you are to put the weights, really well with a non petroleum cleaner of some sort. I used isopropenol. Basically grain alcohol used before you get a needle. Available any drug store. Otherwise the weights may fling off. I had one take a hike and the front wheel shuddered so bad on a hard brake, I thought the wheel was going to break apart.

I have the same valve stems on mine but in the red. Super easy for checking and adding air. Those piece of shit that came with the bike are something else for causing bleeding knuckles.

I was going to suggest getting some cheap bolts to put in the holes where the front rotors bolt in to keep them clear of the paint but see I am too late. Such is my life from time to time.

    Nice job.

Excellent and well taken suggestions! Very much appreciated. I asked the powder coater his suggestion for keeping the wheels clean and he said, "a microfiber cloth, that's it." I can't help but think that something like wheel wax would help though. I don't mind cleaning the bike. I've got a roller to put under the front and the rear, as we all know, is easy enough.

I'll be sure to bring some tape and the alcohol (some for us and some for cleaning the wheels). Hopefully, our stuff is the better tasting of the two.

    Thanks again!

Honda sells a spray wax that wipes on easily. I use it every time I clean my wheels ...makes it a snap to clean.
its by Pro Honda...use it every ride on my face shield tooooo

+1. There are thin wall lug nut sockets on the market. Look something like this: 20140825_104039.jpg
Can be found just about anywhere that sells tools. i think I paid $30 for that set. There is a plastic sleeve that you can remove that will give you even more clearance in the lug nut bore. 20140825_104202.jpg

Other wise Randy's suggestion of tape & hand tools is highly recommended.

Not the biggest fan of them either but lead has gone the way of the Dodo, so if you have them, you may want to recycle them if you can as I doubt you will be able to find them in No America. Maybe China has a few dozen available, check eBay. Although getting them past customs might be the issue, possibly have them disguise them as toys and they'll get through no problem.

Out of curiosity, where did the 'T' come into the picture and what does it stand for? I was thinking of using 'POW' as in Piece Of Work, but thought it too disrespectful to prisoners of war. Of course there's always 'POS' and that needs no explanation!

My apologies to MetallyGuitarded for the thread jack! At least I can make it up to you on Saturday.

No apology needed. It's an interesting twist. At least, much more interesting than the play-by-play of me wating and receiving necessary parts. You have my approval to continue. I'm sure (I hope) I'll be back on later today to report that my rear wheel arrived as expected and I'm looking forward to Saturday.

Speaking of which, any idea how long it will take assuming all goes as planned? I only ask because it'll probably take me a couple of hours to get home and we're going to see a Depeche Mode cover band Saturday night at the House of Blues. Just saw a Led Zeppelin cover band (Led Zepagain) there this past Saturday and they were awesome.

Only an hour or two, unless the tires are really stubborn. Cold tires are really hard to mount, I did a few winter tire changes and damn if they didn't want to go on the rim! BTW, my wife's favorite band is Depeche Mode so she is definitely cool with you coming over!

That will work perfectly. Even if it extends into a third hour, I'll be totally fine. I was thinking of getting there around noon if that's good for you. You and your wife should come down and see the show with us! Let me know if you're up for it and, if so, I'll get the tickets for you. Tickets are pretty cheap and you guys can find a room in town then head north Sunday morning, have breakfast at your Oceanside spot, then continue north and do your ride. Long, if you're reading this, you're invited too! Though OOTV might want you to get your own room. I should have been a concierge.

Oh yeah ... the rear tire showed up! Good to go on everything!

Noon is fine and I'll check with the wife to see if she'd be up for it.

    Cheers
