New member; 4th-gen; Okanagan, B.C.

Hi folks,

New member here. I've had my 95 VFR750F since about 2001, I think. For anyone in/from B.C. Canada, I live in the north Okanagan; born and raised down at the coast, outside Vancouver; and lived for five years in Tucson, AZ, where I bought my bike.

I used to ride all the time, enough that for a while I didn't even have a car. But, over the last few years, I’ve not done much riding. I dusted her off this spring, but she’s in need of a tune-up and hasn’t been running as well as she used to. That’s another story though. In the meantime, the carbs are off and being tended to. I’ve got a bunch of small, overdue jobs that I’ll work on and get her in ship-shape form again.

If you live in the Okanagan, or even just know where it is, say Hi. It would be nice to see some local VFRs.

Welcome Ohs. I make it out to Vernon from time to time so may call you if I ride out there. Have family there. Zoom-zoom in Kelowna may pipe up. He is a frequent contributor here.

 

Haha, thanks Bryan. I have some decent older pics from my time in Arizona; I'll have to dig them up. I was signed up on some other VFR forums eons ago, but I can't even remember what site it was anymore. I think my earliest introduction to the online VFR-enthusiast community was John Perkins' VFR Homepage.

More recently I've been active in AudiWorld (2002 Audi A4 1.8T quattro 5-spd manual, and a 2009 Audi S5 4.2L V8 6-spd manual) and VWVortex (2013 Golf TDI wagon, 6-spd manual). The two Audis are part of my automotive history now. The VW wagon replaced the S5 when my toddler started getting a little big to be climbing in and out of the back of my two-door sports coupe.

 

Sounds good, Randy. I've got family (cousins mostly) up and down through the Okanagan, and my immediate family is all at the coast in Langley. On a different note, I'm in awe of your nigh-on-8000 posts. That's epic.

 

Ahhh yes. Thank you. But a lot of that is meaningless and dribble. I just enjoy the comradery here. Most of it at least.

Apexandy lives in Vernon so the chances of you running in to him at some point are likely great. If you want to get together for a ride sometime I would be happy to join in. Being the father of a now 7 and 5 year old my amount of riding time is not huge but I am certainly up for a ride when time permits. We'll have to check and see if our social calendars can sync up some time.

If you think his post count is amazing, just wait till you meet him. LOL. Randy is a great guy and I am glad to now count him among the friends I have met on this site, though I wish he were closer so I could ride with him. I think his last EPIC ride was about 8000 km's so Randy would definitely be classed in the IRON BUTT category when it comes to road trips.

 

How much do I owe you? Just send me the bill but remember I'm on fixed oncome. BTW, my Iron Butt stuff is now here in Canada somewhere so I should be able to hang something on my "Ego Wall" soon.

 

Ask and ye shall receive. Here she is last weekend when the carbs were off, before I gave her a good scrub down. She's cleaned up and reassembled now, though minus the lower fairings. I left them off this time. I'm not sure if I want them back on or not. I've kind of had the itch to have a semi-naked bike for a while.
