Going down is all part of riding. Going down on shemales aint'. Mthinks that SOW has an extra YMCA chromosome.

Dropped my 06 last Thursday turning left out of a parking garage. It did happen quick, as I can hardly recall what the cause was. I think it just died, and I was at too sharp of an angle to correct. Broke the left mirror, bent a bracket, and I think it bent the part of the frame that the left passenger peg mount attaches to. Already replaced the mirror, will fix the bracket and worry about the passenger peg later. Will eventually address the dent in my pride. [IMG]

Really banger up pretty good, don't get sliders and see what happens next:vfrshorty::spider: IMGP0292.jpg IMGP0294.jpg IMGP0327.jpg I got folding levers too and clip-on sliders and the saddle bag hardware protects the muffler and rear light.

When you fit the replacement mirror don't go mad over-tightening the pivot bolt (bit you move to position the mirror - may be under a plastic cover) you need the pivot bolt done up just enough to keep the mirror steady, but loose enough so if the bike tips over it has a chance of pivoting around rather than snapping off at exactly the place that picture shows. Just remember to check occasionally the bolts don't work loose. (Can do the same for lever mounting bolts)

+1 on fitting R&G frame sliders + bar ends - they are not cheap but having tested them I know they work!

They do. I amended your count.....AGAIN!!!!! Read your post. Nothing like some gravel and wildlife to help you exercise the rectal muscles.

Buddy with the dear did OK really. Chomper hit one at about 60MPH a couple years back out in the middle of nofuggenplace in North East Oregon. Killed deer, and he and his bike went down a very deep rock covered ditch. His body hit a tree on the way down. Managed to winch the bike out of the ditch and he rode it from there to Spokane Washington with a totally bend sub frame. There is no doubt he would be dead without the gear he was wearing. Man the next morning he was black and blue all over but no broken bones. He replaced his VFR with a "GULP" Yamahahaha!

I got five drops now , my last one got my mirror because the pivot bolt was too tight and didn't fold in, it would have if set right-my r_G sliders saved major damage-I was on a gravel parking lot with a bad lean-never should have tried to park there.:cower::whoops::noidea:

I seemed to have missed some of sunofwolf's drops. I don't read each and every thread here so if they are not on this particular thread, they get missed. And that would just be a travesty to the motorcycling world, not being recognized for a drop. Sunny's count amended.

    DUDE!!! You just jinXed yourself...:saturn:

VFR's need training wheels I tell ya, they like to get horizontal for some odd reason. Being so top heavy don't help one bit!

that 5.8 gals of gas will tip it over real easy as will saddlebags or a top box. I run the VFR on as little gas as possible just so it won't tip over so easy! Only a long trip would I add a lot of gas.

Yes, the VFR is top heavy, my CBR is like a dream to handle compared to the VFR. But I guess I will manage not to drop my VFR either ;)
Sunowolf, driving around with almost empty tank is a bad idea, I'll rather pay attention while using my ride ;)

I had a 94 CBR600, and I found the the 6th Gen VFR felt quite a bit lighter when in motion. Though I too never dropped the CBR and have yet to drop the VFR :smug:

For me it's different, my CBR is much easier to manage compared to my VFR. On a race track I would choose the CBR, excellent bike for fast cornering. For touring I choose my VFR.

I would have preferred if the bike fell on me then at least I could have protected the paint. I guess a aftermarket mirror is in my future. Not paying the $100 plus for OEM. Ok where are those fairing repair threads...

:doh:Sorry to hear about the drop SS - but its done now, hopefully you can get the bike fixed like new. For me the money I invested in R&G sliders has paid back plenty!

On the plus side, it does mean Randy will be racking up more posts on his forum post count. It is scary how quickly BB is catching up with Reg. I wonder if Reg has spotted this stealth attack on his forum title? :potstir:

    Take care folks!
