Can anyone hep me identify this plug?

Its located next to the right headlight. brown and green wire. I was hoping it was 12v / gnd switched so i could use it to power a usb charger. However, when I tried to check it with a multimeter it appeared to be 0.5v with the bike off and 0v with the bike on. its possible the multimeter was wrong though as its batteries were dying.

I am trying to find a good switched source for my USB charger near the dash. On my vstrom they give you an AUX plug and a plug for heated grips up there, I was hoping this was something similar.

    Thanks

    You double posting whore. :)

I mentioned in your other thread I think it looks like the plug to diagnose/display any FI codes that might show up. But on my 5th Gen, that plug was located under the seat.

    I'm probably wrong.

I just checked my 07 & didn't see anything similar. That doesn't mean it isn't there, it could be tucked away on my bike. A complete guess is could be something related to an ABS model (?). Again thats a guess. Hopefully someone else chimes in on this.

Personally I'm a fan of giving accessory electrical stuff its own circuit & not tap into the OE wiring harness. Should you have an electrical issue down the road any accessory can be quickly isolated & ruled out as a possible problem source. Also accessories can be easily removed should you part with the bike.

Thanks guys, some kind of diagnostic plug makes sense considering the weird readings i was getting from it. it was more like a data signal than a 12v power signal.

Yeah, I guess I will just run to the battery, its just that if the bike had a dedicated aux harness or something like that then it would have made life easier...

Pliskin is probably right. According to Honda service manual wiring diagram plug has green & brown wire. And is located in the general area of the ECU.

    Thanks!

Now I have to worry that the system had an issue at some point since my wire has been taken out for access :p

So I assume there is no AUX connector in the dash area for accessories??

I wouldn't sweat it. Especially if your bike is running fine. During regular servicing someone could have left something unplugged & thrown a code. The code was pulled & cleared. Again I wouldn't sweat it.

AUX connector? Don't know, doubt it. Check the forums, I'm sure your not the first person to wire in a USB hook up. You might find some insight as to what works & what doesn't.

    Thanks to Pliskin. :)
