And how will you know? Seat of the pants? I assume you've dynoed it and will dyno it after the installation of the new air filter. That would be the only way to tell.

And posted copies of the two dyno reports is mandatory.

That filter, your mixed octane gas, 10w50, and a shot of Slick 50 ought net you 25 hp :vtr2:

I don't need a dyno, I will know just by the sound it makes and how it goes . Dyno are for rich kids and even then it doesn't mean the dyno can tell about:tongue2::clock::yo: a couple HP.

I'm out of this one too. Some posts are just too stupid to be noted.

Remind me of that, wolfiekins, when I A) Get rid of this gremlin in my damn VFR, and B) when I advance the timing in my VFR and optimize the fuel load, you guessed it, on a dyno. and when I get a slick video of this thing blasting onto one wheel at 60+ mph, I'll ask you how your lil butt dyno is doing.

I will hear more air noise if the filter is working better-it would seem foam is a better filter media.

Most notably it should be slightly snappier down low and not fall on its face so bad up top. Just because you removed the junk off the airbox and its loud up front, its not faster. Proven fact. Lol

More sound=more air coming in and that's all I am trying to do, but I still want to get dirt and bugs out and I won't have to replace the filter either -just clean and oil it-that will save some money. It might lean out the bike a little, but maybe not the FI will adj it for the amount of air coming in I hope.

Wow, looks like you got a little dilemma. On one hand, if you oil your new filter, aren't you adding weight to your bike? Those foam filters when oiled must outweigh the paper ones. That could lead to the inevitable drop, solely attributed to the damn air filter being too heavy. On the other hand, if you do oil teh filter, what is the best oil? Is it a combination of TCIII and conventional? Synthetic or dino? My God, too much thinking about this and my head will explode!

You're spot on, the filter sits high in the bike making it very top heavy after a good oiling! Pliskin, you might have just saved him another embarrassing bike dropping moment, good catch. Oh, to avoid your head exploding, you might take Y2Kviffer's advice and take a look at Jev's avatar, although you might suffer a different head explosion!

This pipercross works much better-more air coming in and this filter is lighter too then the stock one. I don't think I need any more power.:spider::flamer:

You have no idea that it works better. Also, filter weight--how trivial.

You don't need more power, you need more skill. After a supposed 40k miles on your R6, your still as bad at riding as a new squid.

Maybe you shouldn't ride bikes, ever think of that? You could save 520 lbs. that way!
