Are you shooting it, snorting it or smoking it?

I have a 6th gen. Me and a couple of buddies did a Veterans Day ride last year here in Missouri up the river road from Afton, great patch of pavement with good visibility. One was on a 2003 F4I and the other on 2008 Ninja R 600, both with a few minor mods. We can be a little nutty but I saw 164 (didn't look long) in 5th gear and she had more room to run. That's all the balls I had even with no traffic, the other two are ten years younger than me and they went a bit faster. I think my 6th gen is most comfortable between 80-120. She just hums nice and cool.

Got my 7th gen (DCT) at 260kph (indicated) and was still pullin (stock exhaust, Honda ad-on screen and Michelin Pilot tyres).
Now, the mechanic said that on premium fuel might get few more horses... I was indeed on standard fuel at the time so I guess need to try it.

Anybody got more out of it?

my 1999 fifth gen 120 but only for a moment :)

how ever the reason I took a 12 year break between bikes was my CBR1000F hit 165
AND I held it for a long distance
I rode from Carbondale to Elgin Illinois 335 miles in 3.5 hours
sold the monster 2 weeks later as I could not control my need for speed

The modGods here remind us on a rather regular basis that one picture is worth a couple of hundred words leaving out shit like " It was a dark and stormy night", "Well" and other salutations invented by some long gone politician.

All this fast guy stuff is fine but if memory serves only two dudes here of recent, have ever posted timing slips. This may foment a whole new axiom that might go something like:

"One timing slip is worth more than a ton and a half of bullshit."

I did 185 on mine but only because I stayed in a Holiday Inn last night.

I've seen 125 INDICATED the '86 700. Surprisingly stable, bias-ply tires too! Feels like she's got plenty more to give, but for me, faster speeds are best observed on 4 wheels.

Your 700 should have a bit more. My 86 750 topped out at 156 indicated. Might of had a bit more but that seemed like it was it. Started going up a slight grade when I cut the throttle. Stock gearing, jet kit with K/N filter and aftermarket exhaust.

I just hit 184 indicated on an abandoned stretch of road in Mexico this afternoon. It was still pulling but was probably a mile an hour or two from the limiter. This is with a -1 down +3 up sprocket so I was probably at 160ish.

With a -1 in front and +3 in the rear, unless you're were using a Speedohealer, GPS, or other speedometer, you would be way, way off on the stock speedometer.

I wonder at what speed the VFR will slam into the proverbial aerodynamic wall?

Just depends on how much power you have to push back.
    Stock at about 145-150.

With the gearing you're running you should be able to hit redline in top gear I would think.

It was showing around 12,500. It was deep into the red. I honestly didn't think it would go that high. I thought they hit the limiter at 178...

Honestly that might have been at limiter. I can't be too asure because I ran out of room. But it pulled pretty strong to 184.
