There was only one bike I deemed worthy of sharing a garage with my VFR / RVF.

    So my existing steeds:

    Now have a new friend:

This is an amazing bike. Almost perfect.

Funny thing is with 15 years of tech between them, the VFR still feels awesome. Power differences aside, the engine characteristics have a certain similarity about them. Heck they even sound similar! (stock exhaust on RSV4 (for now) / Delkevic shorty on VFR). You can definitely feel the short stroke nature of the RSV4 though.

Obviously it is the chassis, suspension and brakes that stand out big time. I will however deal to that on the VFR in due course.

I'm in heaven. Why is life so short?!?

Oh, I hate you soooo much! Been trying to justify dropping some cash on a RSV4 for a few years now.

Gah! I'm jealous. I rode a friend's RSV4 last month, and it was nuts. The torque curve is just insane, it's like it's trying to throw you off the bike at any RPM. Handling was a little odd, but probably because I'm not used to superbike clip-ons; I'm sure I would have gotten used to it. Biggest thing was the engine heat, it felt like a bonfire between my legs and even while going quickly, never dropped below 200˚. If it didn't suck more fuel than an M1 tank, I'd probably buy one.

If there was ever a super sport bike I was interested in, the RSV4 is it. Would also like to know more about your impressions.

Well, it's an NC35 not a RC45 if that's what you were thinking.

Looking a little different to the photo right now...

Only just got it home and it's been raining for a week since I got it! Next fine day will dictate a decent run. Will update after that.

    Cheers!

For those lusting after bikes made in Italy, look for used Aprilia 2 Cylinder RSV's. Many had Ohlins suspenders front & Rear, Brembo's & some had OZ wheels. Tasty bits indeed. Plenty to choose from the used market.

RSV4's are sweet. With an Akra on them they sound unbelievable.

You're in V heaven alright! Now all you need is a V6, V8 and V12 Jag... no wait, you've probably got those too...

And ya, that RVF is one sharp bike. Gotta love em all tho. Just a super sharp selection of machinery.

    Thanks for posting!

Very nice. I almost bought one before going with the crossplane. Ape was just a little smaller and I'm a tall drink of water.

That damn thing needs an Austin Racing exhaust stat!

Actually, heat wise it's not any worse than the S1000RR when in traffic. I'm sure my old 2009 Hayabusa felt hotter.

As for fuel, yep not a commuter bike. That's what the 5th Gen is for.

No, no Dennis ! You have that all wrong. If you don't have multiple bikes, you can't take one off the road while doing maintenance or waiting for parts. Always have at least one bike in reserve or you could change into the lowest form of human life, a pedestrian !
