Purchased, using the verb in the simple past tense.

    883 Ironhead.
    HD roadrace bars
    Daytona fairing
The cruiser tank with a flller cap from a Triumph TR-4
    Koni shocks
    Stock exhaust

The idea was am American version of what the Brits were doing with café racers in UK.

Sold it at a loss and bought a Bonneville.

Top 10 Reasons For Not Waving To Other Bikers

Not new, but for all the youngsters and those who still don’t know why…

Top Ten Reasons Why Harley Riders Don’t Wave Back
    10. Afraid it will invalidate warranty.
    9. Leather and studs make it too heavy to raise arm.
    8. Refuse to wave to anyone whose bike is already paid for.
    7. Afraid to let go of handlebars because they might vibrate off.
    6. Rushing wind would blow scabs off the new tattoos.
    5. Angry because just took out second mortgage to pay luxury tax on new Harley.
    4. Just discovered the fine print in owner’s manual and realized H-D is partially owned by Honda.
    3. Can’t tell if other riders are waving or just reaching to cover their ears like everyone else.
    2. Remembers the last time a Harley rider waved back, he impaled his hand on spiked helmet.
    1. They’re too tired from spending hours polishing all that chrome to lift their arms.

Top Ten Reasons Why Gold Wing Riders Don’t Wave Back
    10. Wasn’t sure whether other rider was waving or making an obscene gesture.
    9. Afraid might get frostbite if hand is removed from heated grip.
    8. Has arthritis and the past 400 miles have made it difficult to raise arm.
    7. Reflection from etched windshield momentarily blinded him.
    6. The espresso machine just finished.
    5. Was actually asleep when other rider waved.
    4. Was in a three-way conference call with stockbroker and accessories dealer.
    3. Was distracted by odd shaped blip on radar screen.
    2. Was simultaneously adjusting the air suspension, seat height, programmable CD player, seat temperature and satellite navigation system.
    1. Couldn’t find the “auto wave back” button on dashboard.

One thing you forgot VFR777, because a large percent of Hardley riders are not actual real riders instead of posers, they cant ride with out holding on with both hands to wave. I ALWAYS wave at every rider (except scooters, not real bikes) and just yesterday going to work EVERY single freekin Hardley rider I waved to did not respond instead, sport and sport tours always respond. WTF... screw em- no more, they can bite the big wienie for all I'm concerned

I sense your ire but please do not post pix. SOW is doing enough damage to this fine forum already with pix of his latest conquests. We should remain at least somewhat dignified IMO..;)

I know it's bullshit hell when I am on my Harley the Real Bikers don't even bother while all the others do. And I as well, I don't get waves back when I am on my VFR.

    PS/ I am not a poser, not a Biker...just a Motorcyclist...

Not a good bet at all. That POS has been gone for many years. At the time there was no little or big Sportster, the 883 were it unless ya wanted to buy the big bore or stroker farkles.

Try doing your homework before your next fail.

I looked on the site. I guess anything sort of goes like trailer queens, towed miles, where to park in the Walmart parking lots, concho contests, specials on those now famous assless crotchless chaps ect.

VFR777 you forgot one thing in: Why Harley riders don't wave back. It's impossible to operate a wheelbarrow with one hand.

I've found the reason why photografers take pictures of beautiful women on Harleys, there's nothing to distract your eyes from the woman, if it had been a VFR you wouldn't see the woman.:biggrin-new:

According to some harleydoods, Harley and Davidson invented the wheel. This brings up another question. When we see pix depicting the invention of the wheel there always seems to be several wheels involved. What if the original was actually a wheelbarrow or a unicycle?

That SP model is called the here in the states the "Shithead"

then decided to ride a wheelie while holding his cigarette in his lips as he drove by my garage
this is also the SAME ass hat that rides around the block obsessively ALL SUMMER LONG reving his engine along the way

personally I like to ride in the country and above 25 MPH :)

FWIW, I've talked to a guy who worked for Outboard Motor Corp out of Waukegan IL. Harley, from Milwaukee, would commission them for castings quite frequently, and they took everything even if it was completely out of spec. This had to be pre-2000 considering OMC went defunct afterwards...

I've ridden a friend's Ultra Glide CVO and I can honestly say, I get it. But it's nothing I'd ever want and way overpriced for the technology (or lack thereof) that comes included. I rack up a lot more miles than any other Harley guy I know and that's fine by me.

And yes, most of the time their rider's attitudes suck big time.

Why is Billy merely Troll of The Year? - He is the Official Resident Troll of this site, IMO.

(Not a criticism, Billy. I love your work.)

Out here if you buy a new Harley, first thing they do is introduce you to their " Chrome Consultant" and that is on their business card
