IMO, stator failure is most likely more tied to a wiring/contact issue in the harness or issue with the R/R & less about which motor oil you use~

I think my travels through Ca, Nevada and Utah in that 102 temp the whole way may jave played a part in it. Just finished a great salmon dinner in Alberta and should be home tomorrow evening. rjgit was a welcome sight while broken down. A big thank you to Rob for meeting me for a beer or two to drown my sorrows.

 

How many miles on this trip? I don't think anyone actually rides a VFR as much as Randy does. The only thing I did was take a small amount of over filled Castrol rt out of the engine and put the cover back over it.:topsy_turvy:

 

Glad to see you up and running. I'm in Utah now so I just missed you. Met another RCMP retired from Vancouver riding a Harley and his partner buddy was riding a sister to my bike. Make it home safe. I've got about four days to go. 5800 miles so far.

I don't know how you can do 6,000+ plus trips without everything breaking down-I would have a hard time doing that in a car.:GB_bonesrock:
