Bummer dude! I hope you get things straightened out for cheap also. Could be as simple as a starter wire or main connection at the solenoid. Best of luck to you.

So. Seems I need a new stator and regulator. Parts on order and will be here Wednesday or Thursday. $850.00 including labour and taxes. Can't wait to get home. I have had just about enough of this ride. Breaking down in Vegas last time was not bad, but here in Re-fucking-gina, Saskatchew-fucking-wan is yet another. Kinda like Portfuckingland Orefuckingon. Sorry Marrib!

It's just hard to understand how anyone could get lost in Portland. Then again, you are from Canada and those guys aren't really known for their directional sense.

So here is the scoop. I am home all safe and sound now. I logged 5703 miles this trip and very glad to be home.

I met up with rjgti who lives in Regina, where I ultimately broke down and sent the bike to the dealer there on a hook. The dealer ordered in a new regulator and stator for me and got me on the roiad a couplke days later This is what the stator looked like:

That is as bad as if not worse than the one I burned up in Vegas a couple years ago. The technician feels a combination of the staotor getting too hot, and it being a non OEM led to this failure. I believe his thought on this. Anyways, I made it home safe and sound tonight after spending last night is the ugliest and most pitiful hotel in Calgary. No, facial tissue to blow my nose, no shampoo to wash my hair, tolet paper was sitting on the counter top because the holder was broken. There was no coffee in the room for the morning. The room stunk of tobaco smole regardless of it being a non smoking room. There was trash piled up a short 30 feet or so from my door. I could have slid a quarter, sideways through the gap in the bottom of the door. And this was a $100.00 room. Keerist!

Got out of there early this morning and drove home. No problems with the operation of the bike. I was thinking of getting new tires soon. What do you guys think, Maybe this one will last me a few more weeks. This was taken as I pulled into my driveway this evening.

Ya. I kinda pushed the envelope on that one. But I was watching it. Obviously not often enough though. BTW. I lost my credit card as well on this trip. But noticed it before it could be used so it was cancelled on the spot. Fortunately I am co-owner of a credit card with my son and had this one with me to use. Otherwise I would have been up the proverbial creek without the fucking paddle.

I also ran through a bit of an electrical storm too. I do not like those these days.

Take that tire off and send it to Reggie. He'll use it up for ya.
Lots of rubber left on the edges.

Wow Randy you had quite the time there. That is a nasty looking stator. I wonder why honda has these issues. Glad you got home safe with that tire.

That stator was put in in Vegas 2 years ago and is not OEM. OEM were back ordered so I went after market. The technician believes that heat was the issue with mine, and given the hard riding and that one day of 102 degree temps the whole day, this probably was part of the issue. This time the stator was replaced with OEM. Both this year and the trip a couple years ago I did place very high demands on the bike. Long days and packing all that gear. That was really like riding two up the whole trip.

Good to be back. Now that fuggen mole messing up my front yard has thrown out the challenge. Off I go.
