Need recommendation on what kind of exhaust I should put on this no idea where to start. just don't want to mess up compression or anything.. the exhaust on it is missing and the baffles looks like they are gutted and hollow. so I don't know whats going on there. Any advice would help thanks!

Listen we are not trying to make you feel bad (well maybe a little) but If you are new to motorcycles wouldn't it be logical to get opinions and advice on a potential bike here in the forum before purchasing it? There is absolutely no way that bike has been bored to 1100 which basically means you were scammed by the previous owner and probably paid way too much for that bike. I truly hope you didn't pay more than $1000 for that thing (and that is being very generous with the price and assuming it has a clean title and no major mechanical issues) Oh and BTW.....The rattle can paint job looks superb. Now if you send me some money via PayPal and give me your address I'll get those magic beanstalk beans in the mail to you today.

Lol yea I know u guys are trying to hurt my feelings lol but I paid $900 n it has 15k miles. I still am happy to be a vfr owner. I remember him saying something like he left a inch in the piston walls or sum sht. I dont know I was scammed lol. But bike runs great. Now how to approached this topic w previous owner... What a dick. Said he sold to me for what the engine was worth. And I'm tryin to stay positive if its not bored maybe engine last lot longer. I was worried it wud not last long being punched to the max lmao then u guys told me bout magic beans an got that pit n my stomach. I'm very lucky it runs the way it does. It's got very steady idle. It use to idle high sometimes when I would hold in clutch or put in neautral after a brief practice ride.

As long as you are happy with the bike that is all that matters and I would just forget about dealing with the previous owner since it won't change anything now. If you are new to motorcycles I think it will be a good bike to learn on and if you happen to wreck or drop it you won't lose out on much. If you enjoy riding you can move up to a better bike in the future. As far as a replacement exhaust it won't be easy to find one for a 1st generation VFR like yours since they are pretty rare, especially if you want something that is a non-oem aftermarket product. Just keep an eye on Ebay but keep in mind that it won't be very cheap to replace them if something pops up on E-Bay.

BTW....$900 is not a terrible deal if the bike runs good but I still think you paid a few hundred dollars too much considering the poor cosmetic appearance of the bike. Does it have any major rash or broken bodywork? Does it have a clean title?

Those are good bikes and if it's complete and running then $1000 bucks isn't bad.

Why are you wanting to do something with the exhaust? Is it too loud, are you wanting to get more power, what is the goal?

Is this is your first bike? If so then just leave it and drive it. It's a good bike to learn on and you won't be messing up new exhaust cans if you drop it. Instead use the cash on a new set of tires and a fork brace.

Take a motorcycle course and happy riding!

Lots of great, good and piss poor advice here on all subject VFR.

If the headers are in decent shape on your bike, A: they can be welded if they ain't. B: whoever made up the rule that exhaust cans have to be plug and play is full of shit.

Well guys he said he took it to a machine shop n had it bored. Said he took baffles out to make it sound deeper. I like it even tho it's loud as hell. He Still wont give me me diameters or stuff u guys are asking about but says to race it haha not ready for all tht. I just wanna know whT my bike is pushing. My first bike so I honestly have no clue. Loved the sporty look wen I saw it and is very comfy when i ride. wanted a runnin bike I could work on and say I did it all myself later on #pride. Jus wondered if the baffles being gone effected the way she goes other than the sound. Ill keep updated if he says anythig else or u guys cud gimme sum more giveaway questions to ask him thanks guys happy to be on a vfr :) Breakin necks the way she looks now haha just wait! Wen I figure out how to insert pics ill show closer the damages to the panels. the goal is to learn what I have so I appreciate all the knowledge u guys are dropping! O yea clean title

That piece in the Ebay listing is for a 3rd Generation VFR so it will NOT fit.

The picture of that piece does not match the one on my 1990 VFR (Gen3) or my 96 VFR (Gen4)
I'm thinking the posting is mislabeled. It "looks" to be a gen 1 or gen 2 but I don't have one to confirm

Might want to get more info from the seller to verify

That's definitely for a 2nd gen. It'll fit. Hope you can plastic weld lol, it seems to be missing the mounting tab plus some on one side.
