Looks like my clutch is on it's last legs at 38,000 miles; before the bike is warmed up thoroughly, it will sometimes slip slightly in 2nd or 3rd gear at full throttle acceleration. Doesn't seem to happen at operating temp, YET.

What is the preferred replacement clutch pack? OEM Honda? Should I replace my springs as well?

I used Barnetts + 10% springs and aftermarket plates from Japan on Fleabay,
Can't remember the seller but it was much cheaper than all the others. I think all up with postage was around $60.
That was 10.000K's ago and its all good, I give my bike a bit of a hammering on my own, and two up with the wife as well.

Ya may not even need plates. Barnett has been in the clutch biz for many years.. Heavier springs are somewhat like putting braided brake hoses on a bike.. A little surprising at first..

Others have told me it is probably the slave sticking. Going to try that first.

And clean out the tiny return orifice in the bottom of the master reservoir--if it's clogged with sludge it will not release the pressure on the slave and the clutch will slip.

Good stuff... Waiting for parts for my brake master cylinders to rebuild them. Kits are aboot 20-30 pesos. Cleaned out the reservoir and flushed the front brake master and the valving failed locking up the front wheel. Scary shit..

Oh yeah if it's clogged in the clutch it slips, if clogged in the brake master it causes drag or lock up. Old rubber brake/clutch lines can break down and shred internally causing the same problems too.

Rebuild kit in the mail today.. Fixed.. the old valve was full of crap.. Not much warning on lockup. Some drag and then ya might be doing stoppies at an inopportune time.

I just ordered a slave rebuild kit. Glad I don't have to tear the clutch apart~
