Last night I installed a PCV on the VFR. Very easy install, loaded a map and wow did it smooth out the snotty spots in low rpm's. Overall throttle response is much crisper and linear through out the range. Seems like VETC transition is smoother. Can't tell any gain at top R's but I'm very happy. Thanks to Dan Kyle's shop and specifically Mike Wheeler for a smoking deal on it. A while ago I put Convertibars on, a little pricey but very nice and adjustable. I also put a a MRA shield, better than stock but I think you would need a really big one to completely envelop you in a bubble. Well not a real Mod but something different, I put on a set of GPA 211's (back is a 190/55). I had them from a few wet track days I did at Jennings last year on my CBR 1K and I hated the Metzler stockers that were on the VFR. I know the 55 profile changed the geometry a little but boy does the bike handle so much better.
Before I do a dyno tune I need to decide if I'm going to ax the cat and put on headers. A Piper Cross filter too. Does anyone know the weight savings of a set of Motad's vs the stock header and cat?
Thank you sir. I have run full systems on a lot of bikes I have owned. I know its way expensive for the small rewards in return but I like an unimpeded exhaust and the weight savings. I still need a set of good chambers for my old RD 350, D&G ones sound good but are horrible on performance.
So after riding a while with the PCV I am really happy. I can tell gas mileage is down, not sure if its the PCV or me enjoying the smooth throttle.
what make and model is the touring screen??? where did you get it???....can't make out the name on the front?????
I just read in another thread about Zero gravity screens being thin and cracking. The MRA seems to be thick and well built.
Sure, I'll do it tomorrow. Install was very simple and quick. I have the stock shield somewhere and see if I can show you a comparison on thickness.
Sorry I have not had time to take photos. My dad fell and broke his hip. Lot of time at the hospital. Will post for you soon.
It's all good man. I know how things get. I've been busy most of the weekend myself. Hope everything is alright with your father and wish him a speedy recovery.
I forgot to get you photos, been crazy lately, still spending a lot of time at the hospital with my dad. I'll get them to you soon as I can.
