If you are riding with hard bags installed the sliders won't even contact the ground.

I have to say as a general statement that it would be nice if the manufacturers spent a little time thinking about and designing into their motorcycles some crash protection devices such as erosion strips like the ST1100 had on the fairings and sliders on the axles and bar ends. After all the natural resting position for any motorcycle is on its side. I don't think that the VFR is any more prone to tip over than any other bike I have owned but is does suffer expensive damages from even the most basic drive way type fall.

As always, one must be diligent.

On a zero mph drop using my foot as the sliders-very painful and dangerous for my foot even with a heavy racing boot, I broke a peg feeler, and got a few minor scratches. I had less than half a tank of gas-full tank my foot would have got crushed or broken. A slider would have stopped all damage. I am only 5 feet 8 inch and my feet cant touch the ground flat. I think the high mounted mufflers add a lot up top. Sliders save a lot of plastic and maybe your foot!:painkiller: I was in too high a gear and stalled the bike-that would make anyone fall. My Clutch lever was bent also. R+G Sliders are heavy duty with anti freeze bottle replacement well worth $219. Now at least falls- at low speed-not much will happen-I hope!

All the weight above what a 5th gen weighs in at is due to the under tail exhaust. The subframe and mufflers are 20lbs more than a 5th. That's what I got when I weighed the parts.

But it rides light enough for my needs and looks good so I'm happy with it.

:frog:those folding levers turned out real cool-it will be easy to grab those with the extra adjustment, they look better too came from who knows-knock offs. I dropped my old r6 a lot too-it had sliders and swing arm sliders and fork sliders and bar end sliders-I dropped it going like ten miles a hour and the only thing that happened was a broken peg.

Anyone have any input on the Delkevic exhausts? The full kit seems to be really inexpensive which makes me wary.

You could probably do an in depth search here on the forum. There are definitely guys that have made the switch, and from what I recall, most were pretty impressed, especially considering the price.

Here's a thought. Maybe concentrate on not dropping your bike...
