Sometimes it's not the ride but who you ride along side with. 300+ bikes & over 400 bikers for a special Angel that touched so many hearts.
A community showing support to a local family as their little one takes her last ride.

    I seen that story.
The "Children and The Earth" Funded Mariahs' bucket list of things to do prior to her passing. They also funded the hearse.

    http://childrenandtheearth.com/uncategorized/sweet-mariah-earned-her-angel-wings/

The hearse was provided by "Last Ryde" http://www.lastryde.com/
    Last Ryde.jpg Last Ryde Eagle.jpg

The Road Captains were "The Templar Knights Motorcycle Club":

    Last Ryde Pic.jpg

There were all types of riders & clubs there. Everyone was asked to wear purple since this is Mariah's favorite color.

With a trailer hitch and a smaller trailer, a fella could make a few honest pesos doing this same service for folks who have lost pets or even folks that choose to be cremated. I think with some planning an average cat or fish, poodle or Chihuahua might even fit in a tankbag. Ashes are aboot a quart if sifted. With panniers and topcases , two for one deals could be made. Maybe put the dearly departed in the panniers and sell soft drinks from the topcase.

This was only supposed to be a thread about how awesome motorcycle riders can be and how they reach out to help whomever they can. Now it has turned out to be a riders bashing on other riders :black_eyed:

Motorcycle riders are a slice of a cross section of humankind. Of recent we have shootouts with semiautomatic weapons between rival clubs and historically some 40 years ago of the beating to death of a 21 year old young mat at a Rolling Stones Concert.

This tiny child who passed, had some childlike wishes come true due to the efforts and funding by Children of the Earth It seems unlikely that she wished for a funeral procession headed by a motorcycle towed hearse was in her bucket list.

The dude who got planted on his Harley had some say over his final resting place. Both episodes are in, at best, bad taste.

In the meantime, back to work on a project combining acrylic casting resin with cremated remains of fallen brothers of the highway, pouring same into a mold that looks like a Harley Pnut tank.

BadBilly I'm glad to hear your opinion as you see it.
As I understand life many people view death in different ways.
There are those that go into a depression and belive that someone was taken from them. Why did they leave "ME".
There are those that mourn but at the sametime celebrate the time the person was in their life and the joy that they brought into everyones life while here. I'm so glad they were in "OUR" life.
Although I did not know these parents, nor do I know if they talked to Mariah about her Last Ryde. I do think they are the latter of the two and they wanted "all" to celebrate the joy that little Angel brought to everyone.

Pilots are cool people too. Even though these guy's had no say so in their burial.

There are those that just want to look at the world in their own eyes, that don't respect the wishes of others and want to restrict their behaviors.

It was a wonderful thing that was done to honor that little girl. Please, don't let badbilly get to you, he enjoys causing grief and is one of those special people for whom Hell is made.

    >> Can the two-bit psychology.

    No shit?

    So why did you go?

    >> Here we go with the red herring BS. 58,000+ deaths of all kinds attributed to the Vietnam "conflict" and you have the hubris to toss that out as a pitch to substantiate your argument?

There are those that just want to look at the world in their own eyes, that don't respect the wishes of others and want to restrict their behaviors.

    >>Dude, this child was likely unaware of her impending demise. Take away the associated hype and what is left is a fucking dog and pony show.

... and only with an added cost of $525.00 just for the rig rental. I bet even if there is either heaven or hell I can pop for this service in Utah or one of the many others. I guess I should start shopping and looking for clearance sales.

For some dude that is looking to go into this biz, IMO, one of the first steps would be to scope out where rival MC clubs are going to meet up and who has the most modified semi-auto firepower.

Not at all just my thoughts on how I observed family members behave as we buried our Mother in 2008. Our sister in 2005. And after talking to my daughter about her step brothers burial in 2004.

    >>So why did you go?
    Because the parents requested it.
But then again I'm not too sure you could ever understand the true reason.
I'll try this time by copying words from Websters:
Obliging; considerate, courteous, polite, thoughtful; showing a natural kindness and courtesy especially in social situations............

    >>Dude, this child was likely unaware of her impending demise.
Her doctors told them she had less than a year to live after being diagnosed with a highly aggressive and difficult to treat brain tumors found at the base of her brain in July of last year. She knew and they discussed it with her. It was a known fact in our community that she was checking off her bucket list as she fought this cancer.

    >>Cameras and dyed hair included
The parents request everyone wear purple as that was Mariah's favorite color.

BadBilly It's interesting to have your thoughts on such a matter. As I'm understanding it, you are disgusted with the fact that people are making money out of a, as you see it, a horrible situation. The guy being buried with his bike, this burial of Mariah. You're discussed with the way some people celebrate life & death. Heck you're probably most discussed at me for mentioning what big hearts bikers have.
Yes, there was a time that the Hell Angel's shot a kid at a concert or they tried to kill Mick Jagger. I'm an old man by some standards, I remember. I know there are shootouts with semiautomatic weapons between rival clubs. There was also a time when Harley riders and sport riders didn't ride together. Maybe it's still that way in other areas. We all create the type of world we want to live in.
Some people like to remember or try to find the negative in everything. Which is fine. I'm not into that. It is interesting to chat with them once in a while.

    >>>>Did the parents contact you or was this event on the local news, placed as an ad in the local paper, on a BB in a bike dealership? If when attempting to define a term like "obliging" if this in fact was your mission, bear in mind that oblige is closely tied to shackled, fettered and bound in the figurative sense and can be "obliged" by some imperious necessity. Obsession once again comes to mind as does the "lifestyle" and dress of most of the attendees evidenced by the photos provided.

This bike drawn hearse thing is some sick shit and on the level with the dude who got planted on his Harley.. The question now might be is, are you signed up for that Last Ryde or one of the other outfits that got there faster with Last Ride. Going by the number of images on Google there are a bunch of choices. I would guess, a small down with a payment plan and compounded interest rates will get ya there in high style.
The partial answer to the main theme is that you'll never really know.

    >>>>Dude, your "facts" are as fucked as your obsession and your jejune attempts at grabbing the sympathy vote suck... The Hells Angels Chapter hired at Altamont beat the kid to death. They were hired as security because of the low stage by The Rolling Stones. Mick Jagger is and always has been the manager of the Rolling Stones. A\slo in attendance were "The Greatful Dead" sans the poor kid who is dead. It is also clear that you may need to get out more and get a better grip on the rest of the real world.

We do indeed "create the world we want to live in". I think I'll still take mine over yours..

Neurotics dream of castles in the air, psychotics live in them..

One or more famous dudes said this probably in several different languages.

Thanks! Better to be interesting than to spend the time making BS threats and being pissed off as an avocation. Will ya be signing up for one of these rides? I wonder how many "bikers" would show up if the ride restricted harleydoods from attending?

Planning ahead, what is your favorite color? Chickenshit Brown? Not in my hair..

I am really getting depressed over all this because nobody has asked how I want to go. I sort of like the idea of the dude posed on the bike and those nifty coffins from UK are way cool. Not mentioned is the organic method not allowing the use of all those embalming chemicals, morticians Bondo and old newspaper stuffing not to mention ruining a perfectly good set of leathers or an Aerostitch suit. A few weeks in the the sun in the back 40 and ya got a neat prop for Halloween or a gift loan to a buddy who is playing Hamlet.

    >>>> More red herrings or are you obsessing?
More red herrings???? How am I trying to mislead you?? You said my thoughts on how different people look at death "sounds shallow or has been lifted from the 1001 ways to sell a funeral handbook" I explained why I see things this way. If this is misleading please explain. If you think I'm obsessing about death please explain this also. Since I have not been to a funeral since my mother passed away. It is an interesting thought though.

    >>>>Were those pilots relatives too?
Nope just something I stumbled over as I was thinking about your out look. I think it's awesome how people go out of their way to help others in anyway they can.

    >>>>Did you know this child?
I thought we established this already....just because you don't know someone doesn't mean you should ignore them or not reach out to them.

    >>>>Did you even look anywhere to see just how many of these dog and pony outfits exist?
Nope, never thought about it till you asked if it was the same place that buried the Harley guy. Why would I?? I go on many benefit rides every year to help out a person or a cause. Are there some that I don't support? Sure. Are there some I didn't care for sure. Just because I don't agree on a persons lifestyle does not mean I should condemn them. I don't believe in gay marriage but who am I to stop others from doing what they want....more power to them. [I'm sure you'll go off in many different directions with that comment]

    >>>>Did the parents contact you [ NO ] or was this event on the local news,[ YES ] placed as an ad in the local paper,[NOT THAT I KNOW OF ] on a BB in a bike dealership?[ DIDN'T SEE ANY ] A friend, Cindy, that we ride with found out about it through another friend and other riders I know we're mentioning it after Cindy told me. That is how I got involved.

    >>>>If when attempting to define a term like "obliging" if this in fact was your mission, bear in mind that oblige is closely tied to shackled, fettered and bound in the figurative sense and can be "obliged" by some imperious necessity.
A obligation to support my community or people I don't know in what they wanted for their last goodbyes.

    >>>>Obsession once again comes to mind as does the "lifestyle" and dress of most of the attendees evidenced by the photos provided.
I still am unsure of what you mean by Obsession. Obsessed with what?? Being around other people that try to do good. Obsessed with death?? What do you think I'm obsessed with in your eye's??

    >>>>This bike drawn hearse thing is some sick shit and on the level with the dude who got planted on his Harley..
This is why I continue this conversation with you. Tell me in your mind why is it sick to celebrate someone's death?? Be it this child or the Harley guy.

    >>>>The question now might be is, are you signed up for that Last Ryde or one of the other outfits that got there faster with Last Ride.
Why would I?? This is the first time I even heard of them. That is not what I want when I'm cremated. I have discussed my wishes with my wife. I don't feel the need to explain to you or others.

    >>>>Going by the number of images on Google there are a bunch of choices. I would guess, a small down with a payment plan and compounded interest rates will get ya there in high style.
I assume you're "Obsessing" with this since you have done so much research on what you feel in disgusting. I'm glad to see you want to learn about something you don't agree on. Kind-a like you & me...we don't agree but here we are learning.

    >>>> It's great to know that the community the parents and especially the physicians were in the know. The fucking question asked was, did the child know?
Good point, Honestly I can't say she did since I did not know them. I would think so since the "News" reports I read through the year said they discussed with her the bucket list that was put together. Does that mean she knew or understood her upcoming death. NO.

    >>>> That kind of shit makes me think you need some help or are an attention whore.
Because I went all out at such an event for the first time for the memory of a child. That makes me mentally unstable or an attention whore??
WOW O.K. that's one mans opinion. No harm no foul for your thoughts.

    >>>>Dude, your "facts" are as fucked as your obsession and your jejune attempts at grabbing the sympathy vote suck...
    >>>>It is also clear that you may need to get out more and get a better grip on the rest of the real world.
Both of these statements are another uninformed opinion. Because if you did truly know me you would know I tend to speak my mind no matter what others think. I have no control on how others react to my thoughts + How can you say I need to get out more?? Have you seen the rock I live under?? And I guess since you know me so well you know where I have lived & what I have been through or seen throughout my life?? Just because another person doesn't see things how "YOU" want them to see it doesn't mean you need to "try" at feeble attempts at putting them down.

I'll end this part with your quote since I guess it fits me in your eye's & you in my eye's " Neurotics dream of castles in the air, psychotics live in them.."

That's off the hook. Not what I want, but who am I or you to say they shouldn't have that choice. Like the one guy said "I want to "celebrate my life" the way I lived it, the way I want to be remembered."

I can honestly see that you're against it BadBilly....it's not what I would want either for myself. to each his own.
