    HI all,
Following some of the forums advice I have done the following.

    1. bypassed O2 sensors with resistor mod.
    2. blocked off pair valves
    3. blocked off flapper valve
    4. synced starter valves
    5. adjusted idle when sync completed.

Other than that Bike is as standard except for K&N air filter
    = VFR800 Vtec ABS 2007

Now it is harder to start from cold and wont fast idle at 2000 as I believe it should.
What have I done wrong? or what do I need to do?
    FRUSTRATED :-(((

Should have listened to the other people on the forum and left it alone?

Sounds like the automatic starter valve is not operating correctly. I forget the proper name but in 2000, the vfr went to an automatic starter valve that uses coolant temperature to know if it should allow more fuel at startup.

Define "hard to start." How many seconds of cranking? Why did you adjust wax unit? Were you have problems with the fast idol before? My guess would be poor starter valve sync and/or mis adjusted wax unit.

Hi I have done the following
    1. bypassed O2 sensors with resistor mod.
    2. blocked off pair valves
    3. blocked off flapper valve
    4. synced starter valves
    5. adjusted idle when sync completed.

it takes about 3 seconds but then only if i crack the throttle a bit and hold it of it just dies again as it tries to idle at 900 rpm

It sounds like the wax unit adjustment, you would be surprised how little adjustment makes. While you are there you might spray carb cleaner in the starter valves and throttle bodies. It made a big difference on mine with smoothing out the idle and start a bit quicker. Mine would sometime take a few seconds to start. I could never get the starter valves to sync very well. This last winter while chasing a coolant leak I cleaned the throttle bodies and didn't adjust the wax unit adjuster but kinda tried to see if it would move. I don't think it did. But now my cold idle is higher at 2100 and then comes down to 1400 when warm. That's why I say it doesn't take much on that adjuster rod to make a difference. Hope that helps and gets you riding!

Right its all sorted. You where correct MrSleep i had adjusted the wax unit correctly BUT it was sticking slightly and as i sprayed 'carb cleaner' on it i noticed that it crept down a little. I moved the rest of the linkage mechanism a few times to make sure everything was free moving and sprayed that all with a little 'carb cleaner'.
So i tried starting the bike and it started immediate and ramped up to 2000rpm instantly.. :smug:

Thanks for you help and advice, think I will order a power commands when we get back from holiday and get the thing on a dyno for a custom map.
