I will start it up, and put on my helmet and gloves, maybe strap the tail bag on, then go. Usually 30 seconds or so. Going through the streets at low speed until i hit the highway is a few minutes anyway, and by that time it is close to normal temp.

alot depends upon ambient temp, but 30 seconds is no warm up at all .

If your in Barf-Ah-Low, you need to warm up your chit. Here in South FL my ninja high 5 does not require choke unless its not ridden for a week and tht temps are in the 60s. The viffer always wants choke and usually its around 1.5 minutes of idle and some gossing the throttle to 5000 or so, then I snick that chit into gear and get going. Usually the first snick is always the loudest, both bikes do this. Compared to some Suzukis I ride, my stuff is Lincoln quiet/smooth. Anyway, Ice-Hunchin, you would not believe how the Bavarians say 'squirell."

I usually let my bikes warm up for the length of time it takes me to put on my helmet and gloves, and in the cold weather a little longer while I put on my heated glove liners. Then, like most other people, I cruise around until I'm at or near VTEC temperature, never asking for much torque or high rpm. I try not to spend too much time worrying about it. Has anyone ever heard of an engine failing, or wearing prematurely because of a chronic failure to let it warm up?
