I picked up an 07 25th anniversary edition and am going to take it out for a spin this afternoon after I get it legal. Looking forward to it. I have one issue that I'm trying to resolve and having a hard time finding. The tail light needs to be replaced. Like the whole assembly with the rear turn signals and brake light. Any ideas on where I might find a decent deal on a new or used one in good shape?

Congrats on the purchase and welcome aboard. I've always like the RWB ones. Nice score too with the luggage and aftermarket cans.

Someone will be along soon enough to direct you on where to find the tail light.

Congratulation on your new ride, she is Sexy
    Kudo for posting pictures.
As for the tail light try David silver spare or replace with clear tail light. Let me see if I can dig up the link.

    Congrats on your new purchase!

Motosport.com & Bikebandit.com have the OEM Honda part (Rear Combination Light) for around $250.00.

    partzilla.com has it for $195 http://www.partzilla.com/parts/search/Honda/Motorcycle/2007/VFR800+AC/REAR+COMBINATION+LIGHT/parts.html

Would help to know were your located so members may direct you to a local resource. Possibly to a salvage yard. The tail light from earlier 6th gens should fit. However earlier 6th gens had amber colored turn signals not clear.

Keep your eye on ebay as well.

Yea, whats up with those tailights?

I think its cuz you guys on 6th gen bikes are scared and always using your brakes. (Although Toe might be breaking his from doing non-stop wheelies through 4th gear).

Best IMO to take care of what caused the problem in the first place. Looks like the acrylic got hot enough to burn and deform and burn the paint in the seat cowl lip.

Charring on the outside is a pretty good indication of fire, not just excessive heat from the bulbs. Probably burned from the outside. Either way it gives new meaning to the term rump-roast.

ChasingChaos, did the previous owner say how that happened?

Could the melted lens be from the heat of those aftermarket cans? Excessive idling?

If you end up getting a stock tail light, you might want to pick up a pair of these Putco LED Bulbs. Most regular bulbs don't last more than a year, and the lower one is a pain to change. After much research, and many wasted dollars on trial & error, I finally found these and they work perfect.

Nice bike. I'm a little biased but I don't think there's a better all around bike out there. Congrats

    Nice find!

You need to put a heat shield between those cans and the plastics. Anything you put in there otherwise will melt.

Now head over to the 6th gen forms and put up your vin# in the aniversery thread. Claim ownership! I have number 00019, the last 5 digits is the build number, the rest just say where when and model.
