Don't know you, so I won't call bullshit. It is not my intention to insult.
But I DO own a V-Rod and the bike as been reliable as a stone axe over nearly 21,000 miles with a stator recall that was fixed and never impacted my personal machine. In all my time hanging on V-Rod forums, I have NEVER encountered ANYONE with a tale such as yours. You have my sympathies. This is NOT to say the bikes are problem-free. No machine is.
As someone else here told me:
Post pix or it didn't happen

Yup, as grown up as the "pirate bashing" that goes on here. Only guys (and gals) with small dicks and smaller IQs have to demean people for purchasing a product or living a lifestyle they don't agree with.

Ok Boscoe. This phone is new so I have no pics of my VRSC on it. When I get home I will xfer some off my desktop. If that doesn't work I'll take a pic of my bill of sale and cancelled registration. Hope that will suffice.
Don't get me wrong, when I first got my Vrod the honeymoon phase lasted nearly 2 years and I was a proud owner. For a stock power cruiser it had few rivals and I preached the gospel of American made and union proud. I was on a Vrod forum as Gundecker. After things started happening to my machine and the shitty attitude of Gulf Coast HD on Cedar Lake rd in Biloxi ms. I started to ask myself was this worth it?
As a Vrod owner you know the early models had a taillight held onto a pretty flimsy aluminum fender by two small plastic tabs and a tiny screw as I recall. Rolling down the road and people in cages are pointing to my back wheel area. I'll be damned, now it's hanging by a couple if wires.
The headlight while being one of the best and brightest litterally fell of as I was drying the bike with a towel after washing. That melting boob looking thing was also hanging by wires. Maybe I got a lemon. The bike never failed to start or run good but c'mon man I paid $15k for it! I would expect better quality. The "tank" tin was so thin I was afraid I'd dent it with incidental contact. Fenders were the same. You know what I'm talking about if you own one. The engine is brilliant. Everything else, not so much.

Yes, gundecker, that is true. However, I have a 2012 with all the bugs sorted out and inverted forks, too

See that is sooo not me...I really don't fit in I guess and don't intend too. I just own a Harley...It is not meant to go fast although I've had it do a ton, It's not a sport bike, but it handles well in the corners and is a fine cruiser not to loud. An old mans bike I guess, which I have grown into. Anyways, no matter what billy says that is my Harley Story. :livid:

With all due respect, Some of you kids will understand when you get older

PS/I love sport bikes, such as my VFR but as I get older and wiser I know we need to part before I kill myself or get a hella ticket. Plus the damm thing is so uncomfortable for my old, out of shape ass...

Shee-it, dude. I'm 65 and I ain't singin' those blues. Maybe I'm just older, not wiser. Tickets? Hire Ticket Clinic. Kill yourself? Practice some of the control that helped you get so "old." Uncomfortable: can't really help there. Part of that is body shape. Of course, losing weight (I'm not exactly svelte) and stretching (which I do) helps a lot.

My last comment on the bashing:
Yes. The Pirate look is amusing. Accountant by day faux, outlaw by night.
But from my perspective, the "spiked-stud" sport bike punks are equally amusing. IT drone by day, bad boy racer by night.
The "outlaw" is really a conformist. The "boy racer" would shit himself on the track.
    BOTH are silly.

Pirate or leather fetish? There is a difference and I'm new here but I have a feeling someone (cough cough Badbilly) will be along shortly to expand on it.

You know, I hear ya but I can't get into the cruiser thing. I just can't. I have learned restraint as I have aged. I mostly ride posted limits. My VFR is set up for "old man comfort" with squishy seat and raised bars. I wear all my gear without the need to wear the silly ubiquitous leather vest, closed with chain loops, that is so popular among those men of a certain age. It's nice to know I can be my own man, dress like I want and that I have to power on tap to scoot away from trouble if necessary. I don't hate Harley's, as I have stated before, any more than I would hate dirt bikes or metric cruisers. I hate pretense and I hate the "them and us" attitudes perpetrated by riders of a given brands.

I'm with Big_Jim59, to each his own, not my style. My son-in-law and daughter each have Harley's, (she inherited his old Sportster).
