Got my 8 spoke rear wheel today

Been looking for a while. I had to buy a whole bike to get it however. I have seen these wheels going for $200 to $300 on eBay. Now I want a front wheel also and powder coat them white.
Funny thing was, thus was supposed to be a. $400 rolling parts bike. I got it started and road it around the block! . My buddy will take it for spares for his 3 third gen VFRsand I get a cheep wheel.

Get ready to do some serious cleaning. But the white will look wunnerful on your RWB.

 

I will have them blasted and powder coated . They will become my bling wheels on the 07. I can't wait.

 

I was quite impressed with how mine turned out, but they sure do show the brake dust. And cleaning in those cavities behind the spokes is a bitch.

 

Secret to cleaning is 2 coats of hard carnauba (sp?) wax after the paint has cured. After that, spray with water, spray with simple green, and brush with wheel brush and spray off.

On the bike, what about just restoring it? Apparently all it needs are all the plastics.

and does it have a left side exhaust? It might be the angle but I don't see that big "expansion chamber" on the headers.

 

It does have a 2 Brothers left side exhaust system. There is a lot wrong to restore. My bud has extra wheels that will fit and will decide, but it really us a doner.

 

Should stand out nicely!

That looks awesome! Makes me want to paint mine even more now.

 

What would really make that pop even more would to paint tbe rest a really dark midnight blue with a dark purple hint, or maybe pearlize the blue.

 

Sweet deal! Its a shame the "parts bike" has to be gutted if it runs.
