It is indeed John. Reason for selling is threefold.
    1) I want to be able to throw soft bags over the tail and go sport touring.
    2) I want to put the passenger pegs back on so I can take the kids for a ride.
    3) I want to bring this thing back to as original as possible. Next year this thing hits 25 years old and falls under classic vehicle status. The value in classics is their condition but mostly their originality.

It is indeed, I'm just starting on resurrecting my 1998 FZR600, and it's all original. I bought it from the first owner.

Might need to keep that FZR project hush hush, I fear the wife will want to buy it once it's operational. Seeing as how it was her first bike.

Rollin, doesn't matter what I ask for it, people will always try to negotiate it down. So yes, I realize the price is a bit high, this leaves room for negotiations.

I'll throw my 2 cents in - and that's not my offer on the exhaust. (had to keep the jokes going).

I know threads get derailed all the time, but when it comes time to sell something, I always thought it was best to address any comments via a PM.

I know Rollin is well respected on here, including by myself, but I think if the seller wants to ask "whatever" that's his choice.

Rollin asked a fair and serious question, and as such was given a serious answer.

As far as the rest of the comments are concerned, go right ahead and have your fun.

This TBR exhaust is the one that everyone is looking for. They also didn't make that many of them as when new these were selling for over a grand. So that makes them rare as hen's teeth. If the price is not to your liking, then snatch up one of the other 30 of these systems available for sale...oh wait, that's right, this is the only one on the market at the moment. When was the last time one of these came up for sale, especially in this good a condition. Bottom line is this system is very desirable, and very rare. I know what I have here, and I'm not about to just give it away. I'm not in any rush, I don't need the cash. I will entertain serious offers, I'm not an unreasonable person, but not just giving it away.

That price doesn't seem unreasonable to me. If it was $1000 new, still looks new, and you can't buy one new anymore (or used for that matter), if you were in the market for one of these systems this one is discounted 25%! Just doesn't seem like a bad deal to me.

Does this mean you are buying it for full price or just spreading some philosophical BS? A variation on "Money talks and BS walks" maybe? The dude who owns the pipes has already lost a chunk of his potential market ego tripping.

We must remember that 350 CDN is only 1.99 USD and the same in pesos.

I guess it's philosophical BS since it won't fit my 6th gen and I like my Two Bros under tail exhaust that I have. If I were shopping for that system (used) I would hope to be able to buy it for half of what it sold for new, but given the circumstance of supply and (possible) demand, and the apparent excellent condition of his exhaust I just don't think his asking price is an unreasonable starting place. If you could still buy a new one and it was a grand or more and then Kemer's came up for sale for $750 you wouldn't consider it? Just sayin.

Silver bullet I really don't think this will work on the 800s.

Seriously rj, do fill me in on why in the world I would want to just give this rare and desireable system away for chump change?
