    Hey guys,
I am in my final year at the University of Central Florida as a Mechanical Engineering major. Last year me and a few of my friends started a motorcycle club. Naturally as our mascot's name is knightro, we named our club the "Knight Riders"... lol it is kind of corny, but it is a good club where we are trying to promote safety in new riders, keep kids from gixxer's as their first bike and prohibit mixing alcohol with riding. (for some reason they all seem to think 600s are beginer bikes...) Any ways here is a link to our facebook page. please check it out and likes are appreciated!
    Thanks,

Most of what I am doing on the quarter mile is trying to get these squids to race in a safer environment than the street.

With your creds and that forthcoming sheepskin , you might want to think about tossing out some feelers to Honda USA..

Yeah I really want to do quality engineering for Honda. I went on their web site and couldn't find anything for Honda power sports, it was all Honda automotive.

Bike HQ is in Torrance, CA. Most of what you will find on websites unless being really specific is data/salespitches. Better than designing mousetraps or can openers. Both are necessary but not much fun..

I would be okay starting in Honda automotive. But eventually I would like to move to power sports eventually. Just as long as it's quality engineering type stuff.

What I am suggesting is putting out feelers and creds before you graduate. This indicates to the big boys that you are interested. They are flooded with applications and resumes when its graduation time.

Look up some names of department heads and shoot them off some creds. The name of the game is to beat the system. Very easy to get lost in corporate systems and end up in file X..

What you have going is an almost completed education and the demonstrated ability to make one of (just for example) their motorcycles that is in fact not even a sportbike go real fast. plus an interest in safety might get you a leg up on the competition when it's time to hit the market for real.

I spoke with Honda at the last career fair. It was kind of a brief interview. They took my resume and told me about internships and careers etc... It went very well, but I need to follow up more. I'm just really short on time with this being my final semester of core Engineering classes. And I just don't even know where to get started with signing up for internships in Ohio.

I live in St. Pete and liked your FB page. Good luck in your studies and future employment. I graduated from Florida in 99 with a degree in mechanical too. I do primary military electronics packaging, chased the automotive dream and worked for Ford for a bit right after graduation but decided it was better to live where weather didn't suck. I would warn you in regurds to the honda dream, for every cool engineering job there is at a big place there are a million daily grind ones, find a place and a job you at least enjoy and ride safe!

Now there is a sparkling recommendation to tell the guy what to do with the rest of his career just because you flopped out.

Not sure where that came from, I was trying to give some advice from a guy with similar interests and education that has worked in the industry he has studied for about 20 years. Not trying to discourage him, just giving him some real world prospective. I was under the impression he was a soon to be graduating engineering student , the "rest of his career" is starting out. That's the same advice I give new grads interviewing at my places of employment. As far as me, Flopped out huh. You don't even know me not sure why you start off being such an a-hole. Regardless, I don't have the time nor the inventive to educate you to my personal situation but don't let it keep you up at night son, I am doing just fine.
