I bought a set of PR3s about a year ago and love em. Last night went for a ride and it felt squishy . I got home and found and small nail in the rear. (Was 20psi , hark, I found the issue ). Local shops didn't have any more PR3 so I bought a PR4. After I bought it I got to thinking and called Michelin and they gave me the company line that they don't recommend mixing brands or series. I know lots of guys love the PP/PR combo so that seems like CyA. I rode it tonight and felt ok too me but I a sorta a novice and didn't push it too hard since it is new tire and only has about 45 miles on it so far. So I think I am good but anyone think this PR4/PR3 combo was bad idea?

Nope. Shouldn't be an issue. Especially since they are both sport-touring tires. Mixing brands isn't my thing but sport/sport-tour combo would be fine IMO. I have PP3/PR2 (f/r) and like the feel of them.

Wouldn't be a problem, like OOTV know folks that have mixed PR2s with PR3s with no issues. Let us know what you think of the PR4.

Am running PR2 front / PR3 rear and works well for me. But Longs mom rides harder than I do so my opinion doesn't count for much. The local shop said the Road 2/3 combo is common.

The 2/3 are basically the same tire I believe other than the 3 having extra snipes. I don't know much about the fours though. I have never mixed them cause I have never had a flat. I replaced worn tires, the front and back wear close enough for me to replace both at the same time. So can't help any more than that.

OK. Whatever those tread cuts are called. Gotta start drinking every day rather than just every few days.
