Carefull. These barbarians tend to shove a spitt up Canadian's asses and bbq them over an open bed of coals. They call that Canadian back bacon.

If you are going to do that, you should come here two days before. I have done the math and to do this I need to plan to go through the LA region somewhere between 8pm and 11pm so not to get stuck in their traffic. That means I need to cross our border at about 1am. I am 20 minutes from the border. Then it is hard riding from there on living on power bars and water. Gas and pee breaks only. No time for restaurant meals even McD's are too slow.

I guess I'll meet you guys there....I'm not sure I'm in that kind of condition anymore...

I'm looking forward to this run sounds fun.....

I may be best to plan a set of tires down there to save a few bucks and get the last 1200 miles of slab on my current set...

Anyone up for setting me up with a cheap set of PR 2/3/4 and install ?

58??? Damn I though you were older...

Anyway I'm up for a hoodie and t-shirt...

As for any newbies that want to attend; we haven't lost anyone for a few years now. At least most of them come back whole from their first experience. Just bring a strong stomach for riding, eating and drinking; not necessarily in that order! :puke:

Arrive Friday... Ride hard Saturday... party Saturday night... Limp home Sunday or Monday depending on your ability (hangover...)

As for the raffle; bring a prize of at least $10 for the give away. Does not need to be motorcycle related but should be small enough to be packed on a m/c for the trip home or consumed on the premises.

Don't forget your donation to the cause!! $$

Sorry, my internet connection has been down for 5 days and I needed to catch up!

we all crash a reg's house...we all call dibs on where we sleep, but usually wind up sleeping wherever we stumble to.

Yeah, In Reg's back yard...but if you want a more "cozy" place to stay (No offense Reg), the wife and I stayed at a B&B just up the road from Reg's (Hidden Hills B&B). A little pricey but it's what it took to get to go and have the wife along. I'm sure others may have a few places they could recommend. BTW, if you do stay there, be careful as the road to their place isn't paved and their parking lot is just a large gravel area, negotiable but can be tricky!.

Its really not that bad. Each time I stopped for fuel, I would do a short walk around to stretch things out. My butt was fine. Last attempt failed cause I have degenerative discs disease in my neck and was taking the wrong stiff for that so only made it as far as Sacramento before I had to shut it down for a rest. Was taking Alieve when I should have been taking Ibuprofen. The toughest part of such a long ride is staying awake. Though I don't quite condone regular use of it, for this trip, I used caffeine tablets readily available at drug stores here in Canada anyways.

If you make it, you will be the first Canadian to make it down there. I have always arrived there under the United Federal Repulic of Randy flag. UFRRFlag1.jpg I had diplomatic immunity there. Don't worry about a place to sleep. There is always room somewhere there. The first time I went I considered a nearby motel but stayed at Reggie's. I was offered places close by as well but all said and done, to stay at the Reggie Resort was the place to be.

I will likely pack a tent this time as well. I did not the first two trips, but the last one was going to be a long trip so I went out and got some decent gear from MEC. Slept in a tent at Yosemite for three or four where the temps over night dipped below freezing but I stayed warm.

We will talk for sure. Last couple days has been a bit of hell with my neck so the Iron Butt may just be out of the questions meaning a more laid back and leisurely ride down will be in order, A three day ride makes for easy riding there and back. Last time I rode back straight through with just stopping for a couple naps on the bike for an hour each. I will show you how to nap on your bike. Fairly comfortable actually.

If you are interested, here is my last trip down. Chicky was nice enough to start a thread. Many were on hand to assist this old bugga on his ride for the five weeks. A good show of the gracious people we have here. http://vfrworld.com/forums/showthre...-of-a-Canuck?highlight=Adventires+of+a+canuck

Sometime I would like to ride down to the Bay area just to meet you for a beer. I will get you a patch made up looking like that button that you can sew onto the back of your jacket.:eek:nthego:

Experience, I'd love to go, but I just started a new job and won't have any vacation time. I'm just across the river from Davenport, IA.

Reg 2 tees & 2 hoodies. So I show 15 total so far.

I think we have to get up to at least 20. From the votes, we are going to go with 2 color, black & red, design on back, small log in pocket are on front.

Design in progress. I will post when I get it.
