Looked but couldn't find any thread doing this on a 6 gen. Went to the Honda dealer and he couldn't even find the bulb size let alone how to do it. Thought I saw something about this awhile ago ---but no cigar finding it.
So what do I have to remove ( front fairing only)? what size LED (colored) bulbs and who knows where to purchase said bulbs?
    alrighty then, thanks

Kind of depends on the bike. I tell myself I will change to LEDs when one of my dashlights burns out on the now galactically famous mach 1 91. The damn things just keep glowing. On the 91 the LEDs would be white. The glass is colored. The electrical gurus will know howto..probably some care should be involved in choosing the lumen rating of the LED. Some are now being used a light sources in cellphone cameras and might be too bright, tanking one's night vision.

I thought I remembered reading a post about this as well, but I think it was mentioned that in order to change the dash light colors you had to remove the LED diodes from the circuit boards and then solder on new diodes to change the colors on the 6th gen bikes because the lights were part of the board itself. I quickly checked the Ron Ayers parts fiche online for the 2002 VFR800 but but htey don't show any bulbs on the parts list for the instrument cluster whereas they list part numbers for the bulbs and holders on previous generations. Hopefully I am incorrect.

It doesn't look like they are easily replaceable, my manual just says LED for lamp, here is exploded view of "combination Meter" as Honda calls it!

Removed my dash panel assembly and sent it out to Bluegauges.com a few years ago Duccmann.
Had them customize it for my Jokermobile in a coupla different colors.

Hey Stosh....how difficult is it to remove the gauge cluster? do I have to take the front fairing off or just the wind screen?
    Thanks
