Remove the cats if its tuned with fresh oil it will pass any smog test. And in the very off chance that it doesn't pass pour a bottle of running alcohol in there before the test. But I read somewhere that alcohol isn't good for the bikes. But then again there isn't emissions tests for bikes either. But leave it to commieforya to ruin it for everyone else.

On the other stuff. The human race will be extinct one day and if the next form of life cares enough to research how we died it might find that we worried ourselves to death. But it won't blame the motorcycles.

the best way to get ot out is to take it off and cut a hole in the top.the stuff isnt eay to get out.when ur done you can weld it up and get it coated.you may also want to do the p.a.i.r valve block off and a power commander.but then again the global warming zealot will tell you that ur going to hell lol.

Ya'll are making it too complicated. The honeycomb crap comes out easily. I had my exhuast off my 4x4 and dropped the cat and the crap just kept coming out. I just got a small pipe and smashed it out.

True you can smash it and it will fall out but wear gloves when touching it. I hear its poison and will seep thru your skin and kill you.

I removed the exhaust system on my 2000 vfr.I used a small radiac wheel to cut a window in the bottom of the chamber, window dimensions approx 5"x6''
Then I had a pretty difficult time removing the honeycomb material from the cats,I say it took about an hour and a half to do it. I deburred everything on the inside of the chamber and the outside ,no fun getting cut on sharp edges. I had a friend of mine weld the window back in place ,painted it hi- temp black an installed it along with a powercommander. I can tell you this the bike runs much cooler in and around the cat. converter chamber, seems to have a bit more snap and is just a tad louder. I havent had it on the dyno yet but I am pretty sure it will make bigger numbers. eddie cap
