I have a 1992 VFR750 with a left side D&D can that is too loud. It doesn't have allen bolts, just rivets. Is there a way to re pack this muffler? Cheers, Bill
Drill out the rivets to disassemble it. You can get a rivet gun and new rivets really cheap at someplace like Harbor Freight to put it back together. I'm going to have to do this with my TBros soon.
Good news. I'm going to the hardware store and see what they have. The weather is putting a hold on anything outdoors here. I'll wait it out. I can still drive it, but it's loud enough to get attention that I don't want.
D&D's have always been louder than most others, seems to me.:eek-new: It must be a mark of Guaire's mature adult responsibly to say his muffler is too loud, doncha think ? People on other forums wouldn't care.
Bikes with loud pipes are fatiuging, I had a D&D on my race EX500 and it was good; for the street, I have the same model with stock pipes and it goes fast without being noticed. Drillining out rivets works fine, have done it a gah-lilion times on many many pipes. Once your secure with your man-hood, you can ride a bike with magneta wheels! right? maybe not...I think I have magenta pinstripes on the viffer though ound:  ice-hunchin...
I wish they made D&D's for the 6th Gen. I love the sound of my Leo's but wish they were a tad louder. That V4 needs to be loud and proud! IMO anyways,
