I thought since i just joined i would post some pics of my 2001 vfr800. It has 71,000kms (just run in), highrise staintune pipe, k&n air filter, 02 eliminators, power commander 3 with custom mapping on the dyno with a healthy 107.4hp. Ohlins rear shock, racetech .95kgs springs, conti road attack 2 GT tyres, im about to delink the brakes which i have never rated as having good stopping power with vtr1000 bottoms, cbr954 calipers, cbr600rr brake master cylinder, cbr600f4i rear brake master cylinder, wave discs. It should stop well after this is done in the next month or two. This is my 4th vfr. Ive had a 1997 750 and 3 5th gen 800's. Ive had over 20 different bikes from sports to big power sports tourers like a zzr1100 and everything in between but i keep coming back to the best sounding engined bike out of all of them. Nice to meet you all. honda vfr800 blue 008 (800x600).jpg honda vfr800 blue 011 (800x600).jpg honda vfr800 blue 013 (800x600).jpg

Hello Mello Dude, thought I would see how the other side live and look who I found. I'm going to start the delink in a week or two once the pain subsides from being chopped open and inserted full of titanium. It will give me something to do to hold off the boredom. Thanks for the links

Wow. Welcome to the world. You didn't post up your blood type. Sweet looking bike. Love that colour. Not available over here I don't think. We usually get all over newbies for not posting pix but you took our fun on that one.

Scubalong is our usual official greeter but he is of somewhere in Mexico fuggen around on his bike. He has neglected his responsibilities here.

Blood has been replaced with bourbon running through the veins now. I do like the blue as well as even in oz you don't see too many blue ones. Will post pics of the brake upgrade/delink once I start in a couple of weeks. I'm also thinking of either buying the delkevic ss header to piss of the cat or seeing if I can cut the cat off and weld in a link pipe on the cheap to save weight and money.
Shame you can't buy the toro supercharger kit anymore.

Sweet looking ride. I almost asked if that was OEM paint, but I see where you are from.

Nice looking ride and welcome aboard. As everyone says, we can't get that color over here, but I'm wondering about the wheels too. Do they come polished like that? I know it can be done, but just curious if that was also a stock item.

All those upgrades, but still looks like the original seat? :smug:

The blue came out in Australia for the 2001 model. I'm not sure if it was available in 2000. Even in oz you don't see many factory blue ones like this. The wheels are the factory grey colour. They aren't polished as yet but I think the way the sun hits them in the picture makes them look a little polished, it's on my list of to do as I had a 99 model with polished rims and I think they look great with them. The stock seat doesn't bother me too much as I've done trips to Melbourne from sydney which is 900kms in a day and I still could feel my backside. I've thought of a Sargent seat but I would like to try one before I buy as they are around $500 delivered to Australia.

Everyone's but is a little different and in spite of possibly causing an uproar here, I purchased a Sargent Seat a few years ago used, from someone here. It was like new./ Extremely good shape. But. If I could turn back the hands of time, I would not buy the seat. I really can't say I noticed that big of a difference. This included a couple rides from where I live to California, or 10 - 12 hours in the saddle. But each to their own. You wanna try a Sargent, common over and ride mine around. Ergonomics are the same I think between the 5th and 6th Gen, or at least very close.

wouldn't mind trying the seat but that would be an expensive seat if I included a trip to Canada from Australia just to try it out.

Yes....but I could introduce you to copious quantities of snow at the same time. That's that flaky white shit that falls from the sky is some parts of the world.

Next week will be time to start the brake delink/ upgrade. Vtr1000 fork bottoms with cbr954 calipers going on.
I can't ride for another 4-6 weeks due to recent surgery so I'll just take my time so it gives me something to do
Each day. Looking forward to having great stopping power and control over where the brake
    Fluid gets pumped to.

Hey Mike you posted you have the Conti sport attack tires on that. How do you like those? And welcome BTW. Just joined here myself. Already love this place LOL. Anyway, I was going to look into those tires myself for mine.

Hi, the bike came with them when I bought the bike and they were only 10kms old so I didn't choose them but they are good. They heat up quickly and when I checked the price of them they are good value. I've done 1000kms on them including some reasonably hard riding and they seem fine to me.

I live in woolooware which is next to cronulla in the sutherland shire. It's good if you want to go for a ride through the royal national park as I'm there in 15 mins.

I've given out the right advice but on the wrong tyre. I just double checked the bike and they are conti road attack 2 GT tyres. Sorry about that. They run the same tread pattern as the sport attack but different compound. Same advice though in that they seem long lasting, warm up really quick and stick really well when pushed pretty hard. Hope that helps you.
