Great report Long. I enjoyed reading it as I sat here at work eating my lunch.

Is there anything that Vu won't eat - other than mans best friend? You calling him a tapeworm was spot on.

The sun is rising rappidly from the horizon
    [IMG]
A shot from a different angle

I should have pop a wheely just to make their day
Well this time we well prepare cause the next 240 miles will be no gas so we fill up couple bottle with gas
As you can see on top of my gear is a bag with two bottles of gas :pound:
As we passing by the same place we got our gas when the mishaps with the spare gas container I decided just to fill up again to be sure

We just fill our gas about 35 miles away so not much gas need it. Still plenty left in the container but we don't need them. Ask how much the guy say 190 pesos
There is something with number 90 here  I think he like number 90 cause it also cost us 290 on our way in
Paid for our gas and pushing on over columbia pass and in hope for smooth sailing.
    Another check point .....

    The view is breath taking......
The twist last for miles and miles
Finally we arrived in El Rosario time for a break and soaking in the thriill
    [IMG]
    View of the town
    [IMG]
Vu is very happy not because he got some taco but rather he just release some liquid from his bladder :pound:
Still light out and still have energy left so we decided to push on to San Quintin so the next day less riding for us :party2: off we went
Here is some of the dirt road we have to deal with espcially on the VFR
    [IMG]
The sun getting lower and the shadow is getting longer......:scared:
We make it to San Quintin with some light to spare, now we have to find a motel for the night. Check out the list and several of them are by the beach which is several miles
off the hiway. I check with the local and Vu is check on his phone to find a way to get there. We rode up and down the hiway and make a few turn to the side road but the road condition is horrible for the VFR, very frustrated. Talk to a local and he point out a bigger road will take us to the beach just few km away. Off we went to in search of the road by now it is dark. Found the road and holly BAtman it is a wash filled with ripples, sand and gravel. :scared: This road is like the trail I took in Death Vally and Borrego.....Holly beeeeeep. Man you should be in my helmet cause all you can hear is beeeeeeeeeep...@#$%%$#@$%$ Beeeeeeeep
I make it for about quater mile I have to stop and go over the plan with Vu. At this point I think he is frustrated and loosing his patient as well.
Remember at the begining I said how lucky he is to ride the GS in Baja? Well this is the moment when I lost it I told him I am turning around and find any motel on the road. He look at me and point ahead and tell me to keep going with his eyes rolling.....WT beeeeeeeeeeeep. I took of my helmet and explaint to him I am on a road bike and it is take a lot of energy and focus to move the bike 1/4 mile not like him on the comfy GS :chairshot: That when he realize and agree we should turn arond and look for another motel. He make it out of the wash without any incident and found ourself a motel off the Hiway.
Here is our motel and the bikes are resting right by our door :)
The room is big for two bike to be inside but the GS handle bar is to wide so we decided to leave it outside :pound:
I am so glad to get off the bike, Vu did come and tell me he wasn't mad and he know how hard it is to ride on that road. I told him let go wrap some beers and he agree :pound:
The beers taste soooooooooo good right now. We check with the front office for a good restaurant and he said there is a nice restaurant about 15 min walk :jaw:
You know when they said 15 min walk in Mexico can be half an hour or more. We ask him if there is delivery :noidea: He said no...haha at least we ask :pound:
Vu ask him if there is good tacos around and he said to you left around the building.......Woooooo......Hooooooo of we went
Here is me walking along with a cold beer in search for Taco stand
    [IMG]
Found the place and there are a lot of people.....Yeyyyyy that is a good sign

Smell of the grill is just fantastic
    [IMG]
The man is busy feeding us :pound:
As always Vu order each from the menu from Cani Asada, Canita and some brain I think.....There were a guy next to us offer Vu to try one of the meat not sure what it is but I will not try just saying
He ate it and order for more.......That was a great dinner and now we ready to go back to the motel and drink more beers

    Day 10

    Destination........Home :whoo:
After a good dinner and some nice cold beers, we hit the bed and get ready to deal with the border crossing in the morning:jaw:
Up early pack and get ready to hit the road before the sun rise and all the animals are off the road :pound:
It was so cold this morning Bluuuuuuuuuurr
    [IMG]
Check on the temp gauge and the temperature show 46 degree yike
    [IMG]
The sun is cripping up on us
    [IMG]
Another beautiful day in Baja :thumb:
Vu is chilling and ride along, he seem to be a bit slow this morning  My guess that he doesn't want the trip to be over this sooooon
    [IMG]
The road in Baja would get you into town along the way and the condition of the road some questionable
    A lot of this :scared:
From San Quintin to Ensenada we have to deal with many of this road........:chairshot:
Seem like they have tearing up more roads while I was in Cabo
clay, mud, gravels you name it the VFR have done it all.....
And more check point........This make riding condition even worse. You have to stop more often and more chance to drop the bike
    [IMG]
After getting thru those rough roads we pull over a gas station by Todo Santo to fill up and take a pee break, I noticed my heated grip is toast :scared:
probably from my grip going thru those gravels roads.
While we at the station Vu ran off to get some hot coco to warm us up, great idea. 15 min later he return with my hot coco
He said it take them for ever..........Welcome to Mexico :livid: As I sipping the hot coco Vu spot a taco stand by the station so off he went.
Not sure how many he consume but he did bring me back a couple of fish tacos but I pass since I am not a big breakfast guy
So he ate the two and claim Breakfast is a most important meal of the day
Go over the bike to check for any loose bolts or any missing parts :pound: all is good beside all the grims and tart from the roads
    [IMG]
My strusty VFR  She is awesome
    [IMG]
This is what you encouter when you enter the town......You have to be very careful cause many of them would chase you down the road and sometime they will run in front of you and that will not be prutty
This would be a great dinner or perhaps a tacos feast for all of us :pound:
Make our way thru Ensenada plan to stop at the fish market to enjoy our lunch but it was too much traffic and the street are too busy so we push on to Purto Neuvo
Passing many of abandon structure along the coast
Arrived at Puerto Nuevo and checking in one of the nice restaurant, the town seem to be empty must be because of close to Christmas.
Just do you know this town is famous for Lobster many years ago you can have a nice lunch or lobster dinner for less than $10. Those day are gone
The price for lobster from $20 to $50 depend on the size. Since this is our last meal in Baja for this trip so we order ourself a Large :pound: we need to use up our pesos anyway :)
A look from the balcony of the restaurant. I should stop by the last restaurant from my last trip it was on the water  Oh well
    [IMG]
It is closes to noon so a cold drink in order :drinkers:
We have the whole deck to ourself
    [IMG]
    Una mas por vavo :pound:
    What that it .......:noidea:
Our plate wasn't look that attractive
    [IMG]
With the price I pay they should come with all the side dish and some free taquilla.......:blue:
Ok...I will just shut up and enjoy my lunch
Vu is having a hard time with the lobster, he want to know how we going to eat them? I told him is easy just roll them up on the tortilla
and suff it down with cold Cavesa :pound:
    This is goooooood :drinkers:
The lunch was just ok, the bill come up little over 900 pesos. Since it is Christmas so Vu and I left them a good junk of tips

Now we are ready for border crossing :jaw:
I want to take Tecate for less traffic and more twisty but Vu doesn't want another hour or two add into our route so TJ crossing it is.
I told Vu to follow me closesly and be ready to spit lane. I have heard by many other riders that you can use the Sentry lane and cut thru the gap to enter back to the
regular entry...........So I took the advise and head to the Sentry lane.......This time it not freaking work :frusty: they must have known so they set up a gate before the bridge and close all the gap on top of that there are sign say NO MOTORCYCLE :chairshot: with all that hard work try to sneak in and now they kick us back out
I do have video for this will try to post them up.
So Vu and I got kick out of Sentry lane now we are lost in the city.........Great
I lost Vu for a while due to the traffic and the madness of border crossing, some how we end up back together again :thumb:
I am hot and soaking wet and the bike is hot...........:frusty: I set my GPS for home so it can guide me back to the border.....I told Vu to follow me and be agressive
The GPS took me around town and I wasn't comfortable with the route, at one of the intersection I reconigze one of the entry for taxi to drop of people at the border.
(I think some of you mofos should remember this.....) So one of the lane for taxi and the other lane is for car to get back to the border crossing but it had been block off with plastic barrel and tape.........No sweat I can either go under the tape or squeeze in the gap. I will try to go thru the gap and voila I am back into the border crossing and we are only couple hundreds yard away.............Woooooo.....Hooooooooooo I feel so relieve. All that Chaos happen in a flash and I forgot all about Vu. I look around and could not see Vu
I waited for a minute and in the corner of my eyes here is Vu rolling in ...................Yeah great job Vu I gave him  The trouble is not over yet  The first ten lanes to the right is for Priority clearance only so we must make a run across the ten lanes to be at general entry. :frusty: We sqeeze in between car and make it across :whoo:
Some will try to block you and some will let you in......I try to be a nice guy and ask them before cut across and it work. All in all it took about 40 minutes to cross with a bit lost in TJ. We fell release to be back in the State.

Here we are back on South Cal traffic........
I have to split lane for a good 50 miles to get home
    [IMG]
Hours of split land later I am finally home
    [IMG]
ODO show 68773 when I park the bike
    [IMG]
The ODO before I left was 66333
    the total mileages is 2440
Here is Vu rolling in 15 minutes later :pound:
Don't you think he look good on my bike and my gears
    Home as last......
Vu and I gave each other a high five for finishing the trip without any Dramars
    [IMG]
Here is the tires look like after 2400 miles of hard surface in Baja
    VFR front

I have to give the PR3  for all kind of abuse in the last ten days.
