    Greetings,
I am the proud new owner of a '00 VFR800. I love this bike, but I have one problem. I want the underseat exhaust of the 6th gen Viffers. Is it possible to swap the rear frame, plastic, and pipes? Is there an aftermarket kit I can purchase? Can someone help me, please?

In the money it would take to do that, why didn't you just buy a 6th gen for the extra cash and save the miles on the bike?

As for your question, I've never seen it done but I'm sure any thing is possible. I'd start looking for a donor bike.

    I didn't buy a 6th gen because I didn't want the VTEC engine.

Undertail exhaust is pretty sexy in general, but a tough chore for the 5th gen. I think I've seen one before, but it looked like a pretty horrible afterthought.

You check out any high mount systems? Swapping my standard to high was a huge improvement in looks. If you're into the shiny stuff, staintune exhaust comes high mount as well.

I was wondering the same thing. Tori and I are going to look at the subframes on our bikes (his is 6g and mine is 5g) just to see if they are close at all. harricanfloyd (another member) has an undertail setup on a 5g that looks pretty goo but you lose passenger cability with the way his is.

Personally I really like the high mount system, I think it would take several hours of fabrication to modify the bike to an under the tail system, I doubt that you will pick up any power gain or reduce the weight of the bike with an undertail. Yo SLO av8r, can you give me some idea of how much that high mount system cost, also how does it sound?

Link to the pricing page: http://store.micronexhaust.com/index.php?make=Honda&model=VFR-800

    Honda VFR-800 98-01 SLIP-ON CCH63/OH 98-01 Honda VFR-800 carbon fibre oval "high" right side race slip-on $449.95

I got the two-color carbon weave, which was a little more...

Sound is fantastic. My old stainless exhaust was PAINFULLY raspy. The new system has that typical velvetty Micron tone. It's a much more mature, racing sound now... I was disappointed because it's a little quieter in the saddle, but a buddy road it around the black for me a few times and I heard it and it was beautiful...

Thanks for all of your feedback. I already have a high mount Two Brothers, and it looks pretty good, but I really like the underseat look. Any pics of a 5th gen with underseat exhaust?

    His profile: http://vfrworld.com/forums/member.php?u=2742

I don't know if he has posted any pics here. He definitely has posted pics on vfrdiscussion.
