Hey I know a few months ago someone posted about this and there was some interested people. Well I contacted to manufacturers about building a replacement unit for the VFR tail light and blinkers with maybe a clear lens, but at the very least switching everything over to LED lights, rather than incandecent. The benefits being
    1) LEDs react quicker, miliseconds to be sure, but when you are braking with someone close behind you, every little bit helps.
    2) LEDs, done properly are brighter. This too is a small difference, but helps in getting us noticed.
    3) LEDs have less electrical draw, good for those, like myself that have gone "farkle crazy."
    4) LEDs usually last significantly longer than the stock bulbs. So you don't have to worry about your bulbs blowing out when you are on a trip and hundreds or thousands of miles from home. Or you don't even notice till a buddy follows you one time and tells you, then it is "how long has that light been out?" Or it doesn't lite and you never get to question, because you ended up a hood ornament on a Buick.
    5) LEDs have a higher resistance to vibration -- which can also play into #4.

What I now need is a tailight/blinker housing to send to them for them to tinker with. Since both have said the process will take weeks, I don't want to send mine. Does anyone have an extra housing they could contribute? Broken tabs or anything wouldn't matter in this case, it is just for them to play with.

I am talking about something like this http://www.customdynamics.com/honda_cbr1000rr.htm

also, what woudl be the level of interest?

For the latest generation, my particular interest is in a 2004 version. When this was brought up a couple of months ago, the only one that seemed to be out there was a boy racer style, to look like jet engine exhaust. Some of us older types didn't really like that:tongue: It seemed to have less light area too!
