Was working on an old Ford truck I've had for years, but rarely drive. Bringing my tools back into my shop, I moved the VFR up about 4 inches (picking it up off the side stand) turn around, and BAM she falls off the stand, it was parked next to my Kawasaki ZRX, the tail light hits the quackers footpeg and
shatter's my tail light (1999 model). $244.00 + shipping from Ron Ayers......anybody got a spare???? Damn the luck! (did fix the truck, however)

Gawd. Sorry to hear about your mishap. I never move my bike, ever, without throwing a leg over it. More due to my own insecurity rather than knowledge, but it seems to offer me more opportunity to make sure the sidestand is locked in place.

You could try fleabay. Every once in a while someone parts out a 5th gen.

Just do a saved search or alert or whatever. Be a few months of cool weather for you anyway...

If people were a bit more careful when moving their bikes we would not have to say "shit happens" ....shit only happens when you're a careless fucking idiot.....just my opinion.

Now. Lets not be too harsh. Everyone's opinions are important to someone, somewhere. Just like what I think about people who allow brake dust to build up on their wheels. Total douchbags they are and there is no excuse.

Was just looking at Ron Ayers site for some stuff for my wife's bike and saw that the rear combination light now lists at $177.65 for a 2000 VFR800 which is the same assembly and part number.

    Check it out. http://www.ronayers.com/REAR-COMBINATION-LIGHT-C173924.aspx

Price came down $70 since yesterday. Maybe by tomorrow it will be $100 plus shipping. Hmmmmm, likely not, but we can dream, right??

There were as usual several takes of that scene. The original script called for him to say "poo-poo happens" . They also tried "#2 happens." I don't think they tried "Shat happens" . Wrong tense.

I think the bloke from UK may have something. The mach 1 91 has kissed the tarmac three times just from dumbshit stuff that was my doing or not doing. We could blame the bikes for falling over all by themselves but we all know that only Harleys do that.

I heard a story where some doode (may have been a closet HD rider) was in a supermarket with his new girlfriend, and informed her that he had to "drop a deuce" well the girl skidatteled and the doode was alone.

    Deuces do happen.

No worries man, I've dropped my CB-1 a few times. I even managed to snap off a rear set without dropping it. So lessons learned I've starting collecting spares.

I hope as a college grad with a business degree that you will learn to distinguish the various possessives before writing any business letters and do not be reluctant to have more than one thought at a time.

This could lead even us dumbshit bikers to think maybe that carelessness in contagious.

Really, I was a fooking dumba##, but in my defense, I was dog tired after working on the truck for nearly 5 hours. That being said, I should have been paying better attention. Live and learn.... but at age 62 I'm pretty tired of "learning the hard way".

every one of the marks (except for the ones caused by a careless cager) were caused by me not paying attention

I leave most of them there to remind me to pay attention

That being said, keep checking ebay. It will pay off.
