So, in my quest for signal mirrors on my 07 VTEC, the OEM Honda 08-13 CBR 1000RR signal mirrors look like an easy, no-mod swap. Not bad priced either. 2 part design on each side, cover/light and the floating glass part.

Of course, ebay has both of them together for way cheap, but the word here is stay away from chinese knock-offs and that they are cheap for a reason, right?

I just don't know what they look like when the key is on, and what they look like when blinking. Running light?

So, I thought maybe one of you guys has this bike, or has a friend who has it, or may have seen them on/working?

    Look again: CBR

The base is different than both the 5th & 6th gen VFR's.

There are several threads over at VFRD about people finding a way to change mirrors, GSXR mirrors being the preferred for some reason. But they all take either fab work or $$$.

However, if you do find something that is bolt on swap, please post it!

    SOA?

They look like a direct swap to me. What am I missing?

yeah, I saw/read that post about the VFRD member who made/sold some bases to allow use of GSX-R mirrors on the VTECs. Love more info on this, but all I saw was a long list of folks who said "I'd buy a set" but I don't see anything saying they were ever actually made. Or did I mis-read that part?

My guess is SOA = Sons Of Anarchy.

If you look at the photo of the CBR mirror, the bolts on the mount, point downward (perpendicular with the mirror arm). Where as the VFR mounting bolts are "inline" with the mirror arm. You might send TinkerinWStuff a PM, I believe he put some turn signal mirrors on his 5.5 Gen.

Yes, that is exactly what I was trying to point out. If you were to put the CBR mirrors on the VFR, they would be pointing down towards the ground. The make the VFR look sad!

Yeah, they look nice, but you would run into the same issue as the CBR & GSXR mirrors.

If you decide to go with gixxer mirrors and are interested in a used pair let me know. I have a complete set in very good conditions.

There are usually CBR RR 08 to 13 mirrors for sale on the CBR forums. Lot of people are tracking them and sell the mirrors cheap.

    Just a thought.

    new800.jpg

If you look at the combined indicator/mirrors which are fitted on the VFR800 2014 models (on sale now in the UK) they seem to mount in the same (end on) location as the earlier VFR 800's. So I assume if you could order some of them from the spare parts department they should be a bolt on install although you will still have some fun hooking up the electricals.

I went with the cheap Chinese knockoffs. I'm plenty happy with the results. Bolted right on, splice in the two wires for blinkers. No running lights in the ones I picked up.

Yes I saw that and thought of that as well, but they are chrome here in the US. Not much chrome on my bike to match those.

I know you have probably been asked this, but I'd love to see as many close up fotos as you care to take. Or, if you already have some posted just point me to a link and I'll check them out. No blurry/loose issues with the Chinese ones?

Hey Tink - I'm interested too. I thought those dubious chinese mirrors were dimly lit and shook violently. If they are actually usable, I would consider them myself.
