First VFR in KCMO

Hey y'all. Just bought my first VFR last month. Only got to ride her twice. She's a 2000 with 15000 miles. Came with Corbin seat, throttle lock, and tank bag. I added the tank bra. I've been reading some about vfrness but am not positive whether she's been updated or not. No visible damage but I thought I'd take care of it anyway. I ride a lot and reliability is big for me. From what I've read it seems like R/R isn't the problem but the wiring and connections? So could I just pick up a vfrness kit and skip R/R? Anyways, here she is. By the way I'm just north of KCMO. Just moved here from WI and don't know anybody so if anyone is in the area and would like to ride come spring let me know. Take care y'all.

 

Welcome. Nice looking ride! Where from in Wisconsin, I spend a lot of time there on my bike. As far as KCMO I have a cousin in Lenexa but he doesn't ride.

 

Should I guess you are from Hurley WI? If so I was there in late August on my 2007.

Actually Hurley is the last name. I'm from a little town about half an hour south of Madison.

I probably know the town. My favorite rides usually take me to WI.

As for the R/R and VFRness. Take a look at this link below. If you want "reliable", don't skimp out on the R/R. You can always take the one that's on there now and tuck it under your seat for a spare. But I'd strongly suggest replacing the R/R with a quality MOSFET unit.
