Brought the new-to-me 2005 VFR800A home this weekend!!! 19k miles. Runs like it is brand new. Has brand new PR2's (still have the nubs on them).

    Mods:
    -Givi touring windscreen
    -Low/High beam bulb upgrades
    -Heli risers
    -Seargent seat
    -OEM paint-matched hard cases
-Power Commander III w/ custom tuning installed
    -Ram mount
-Cheap throttle lock (will be messing with this - not sure I like it)
-R/R recall work was previously completed
    -Paint-matched magnetic tank protectors

Pretty sure I'm forgetting something. I'll add it later.

Plated her yesterday, and then hit the motorcycle shop for a battery tender QD. Installed that as well, and now I'm waiting for this crappy storm to blow through!

Just wanted to let you all know that I'm thoroughly pissed at myself, for not getting this bike sooner!!! This thing is a blast!!! Love it! Can't wait to put some miles on her.

    Mods to come:
    -Exhaust
-Undertail kit (I know about the free tail mod)
    -12V power routing

Last but not least, I want to say thanks to all the knowledgeable people here. I've been reading your posts for awhile, and they really helped me get to this point. Thanks!!!

    Thanks Bro!

Ram mount: (So I'm told) It's a really good mount for things like a GPS/phone/ipod. Mine is attached where the gas tank forward hold-down bolts are located. Haven't used it or even looked into options that it may provide.

    Thanks Bro!

Actually, the Matte Black was my favorite! They are so rare though. Silver was the second choice.

All the best and don't forget to keep her shiny side up!! :smile-new:

Hopefully the storm here will end soon and I can get the bike out of the garage as well. Hmmmm, not so likely here as the storm is called WINTER. Gawd I hate winter sometimes. Ah well, gives me more time to add farkles and such............. :smow:

Thanks all! Rode her the other day when it was 45-50 degrees outside. With the correct gear, I was fine and having a great time. Not scared to ride when it's cooler. The wet weather has passed South Carolina, so I should be riding again NLT tomorrow. :)

Congratulations. If I didn't have a matte black (your favorite color) I'd say I'm jealous.
Based on my observation, you have a "vista cruise" I have two of them and prefer it over "Omni cruise" but both are good items.
Enjoy your ride, and welcome from the right coast.

Here you go. Feel free to browse the site in its entirety to learn, but in short, the VFRness address the wiring/charging that is known to be inadequate on these bikes.

    http://www.wiremybike.com/vfr-specific-parts-2002-2009-vfr-parts-c-1_17.html

My dealings with the owner of wire my back were great.
