After a whole season in pieces while I cleaned and painted the frame my 500 is finally back together -started up just fine in the 30F air even. The carbs are leaking like the NSA though. I'm pretty sure its the front fuel joint, #10 in this picture:

Anyone know the size of those o-rings? I'd rather just get those than by 4x $30 joint sets.

Also, can someone post a pic of the plug wire routing? I think I've got the routing wrong for the front pair.

    Cheers!

Visit an autoparts store's O-ring selection with carbs and fuel tube in hand. I had but lost the exact #s.

All proppa info on routing of wires, cables, hoses, etc. is in the FSM, clearly illustrated.:eagerness:

How many miles on her ??

Better idea than waiting on parts!

Unfortunately I have a Haynes, and it's junk for that kind of stuff as I'm sure you know.

As far as the mileage, well, the provenance of this bike is highly suspect. Odometer says 34k, but the title says its an '85 when mechanically it clearly is an 86. The cam lobes look wonderful though.

Oh god, I tried. There is just so much lore in here I might as well have been trying to find a lost contact in the middle of a marathon.

I've used 2x8 Viton O-rings for the fuel transfer tubes and 1x7 for the plastic vent tubes with some success. Both are available from McMaster Carr
