I was googling 2008 VFR's like mine, and some images show bronze/gold colored wheels (almost like Subaru STi wheel color) rather than the silver wheels that match the fairing color like my bike has. I really like the gold wheel color against the silver fairings, the little bit of color really sets off the bike I think especially with the single sided swingarm.

Were the gold wheels an option or only available in certain markets or what's the story with them? I can't seem to find a set for sale anywhere. I'm thinking I'll probably have to get my powder coated if I want that look...

The owner probably swap them out with older model like the 3rg and 4th gen
Or they powdercoat the wheel.......As Toe said pictures would help to answer your question.

Gold wheels on the silver bikes were OEM here in Australia.

Well that would explain it! I'm sure it's much more economical to get my wheels powder coated than to try to source a set from down under. Thanks for the info!

In looking at that picture more I notice that the bike has a black frame too. Was that standard for the Australian market as well?

I have always thought black wheels would look good on my 2008.

+1 on that. I thought it would look awful but it looks pretty damn good to me too.

It's funny I came across this thread, as I was actually seriously thinking about painting my rims a gold/bronze color. I think it would look good with the red fairings. Which btw is the true fastest color

I will have to admit that would look good.

Now Im not usually a grammer Nazi, but this time I have to be to defend the fastest color VFR... The last sentence in your statement can be construed as a question so I will defer to post #11 in this thread...:potstir::boobies7::focus::funky:

Looks good on red too! Although it looks like the austrailian bikes got black frames and black radiators too so that makes a little bit of a difference Honda_VFR800_Red.jpg

Yeah and mine is the bright red, so I might go with a more gold color. Similar to the gold Ohlins uses maybe?
