Also, you may need to define some parameters for "young".

i know its such a crime to paint these bike any other color than what they were. i am still having troubles figuring out what the original color was, it looks like it was painted all red and with a spray can and then blue but the black seat appears to be original.

Bought mine from an 18 year old whose reason for selling was right after his purchase he promptly got a huge ticket on it and his mom made him get rid of it.

That and doing 90 in a 45 (IIRC) might have had something to do with it too.

I have an 85 and an 86. The 85 runs strong and has had the front and rear suspension upgraded and is a beautiful bike, I got lucky with this one as I only paid $1600 for it. The 86 started as a parts bike that I bought for $400 and is gradually progressing into a complete restoration project as it is mostly complete.

    Good luck with the rebuild.

I bought, restored and sold my 86 off fleabay. Flew to Chicago and drove it back and spent a year restoring it before selling it for an obscene amount. Of course, I did convert it to the EU only Rothman's special, tank to suspension and Honda only paint. Had to receate the decals with a vendor.

Labor of love. But the ergos are all wrong for me. Great bike, glad I had it, glad it found a new owner.

    Post pics of progress.

i currently am working for a Ferrari/Maserati/Lamborghini/iso revolta restoration shop in Germany, a perfect restoration is my goal i dont think i could do a partial restoration after seeing what a real ground up every part redone restoration looks like. must have been hard to sell that bike even if its not the perfect bike for you, what did you end up getting for it if you dont mind me asking? im considering doing restoration of old bikes as a side job if it works out on this one
