Mostly all good advice . +1 for comfort but you will also need one that is quiet. 130 miles a day will wear on you if the helmet is noisy. Bluetooth is a luxury if you talk on the phone a lot. I have a chatterbox BT that I got a few years ago for a trip to TN. A friend of mine had one on the trip but we almost never used it to communicate. I did use it to talk on the phone and listen to music a few times when I got it but I have never used it since. Ear buds into your phone/mp3 player will be better. Just be sure to get the noise canceling style or something close to that.

    I have a Shoei RF1000.

Man I hate to be that guy but this thread started over a month ago and the OP replied once early on. I recently have replied to old threads someone stirred up here too.

It's not bad- it's a resource for anyone looking for the info.

Still, I can't help but think it's because we're just enthusiastic but bored Honda owners what with our awesome rides and lack of problems:)

If your committing then go for the best helmet you can afford. Go for a good visor & make sure a replacement visor will be around in a couple of years. Most helmets offer a lid with removable lining & its amazing how much crud can build up. A helmet with some kind of insert to help with fogging up is handy, (but nothing works most of the time). Everyone has an opinion on whats the best helmet but comfort is king. Oh and when you try them out, make sure you test them with putting on your sonnies (or glasses) some helmets are better than others & I have a few buggered frames over the years.

...and remember, if you buy a helmet that is too large, new or used, wrapping duct tape around your head will make it fit.
